Random bodyweight exercises throughout the day. Effective?

So i'm doing the Nerd Fitness Beginners Bodyweight routine but it's hard because my youngest daughter is at a very clingy age and won't let me exercise. lol I was able to get 2 sets done of each exercise and also the warmup today while she napped but she wakes up a lot during her naps. So later today while playing with her I started doing my squats, then played with her some more, then did my pushups, played with her some more, did my plank, played....then I did my walking lunges a few hours later while I was getting the kids ready for bed... So my question is, is this effective at all? Will I even see results doing the exercises spread out the day like this or do I need to do them all at once for optimal results.

Another option/question. I was thinking about wearing her on my back in my baby carrier to do the exercises. She's 25 pounds and I thought maybe the extra resistance would be beneficial and i'd be able to do the whole routine at once. Is there any reason I shouldn't do this, I mean injury wise? Thanks in advance!

to a degree, any movement is good movement...

Obviously, you won't get the same benefit as a focused workout but it is a whole lot better than sitting on the couch watching Oprah and eating bonn bonns!

Be careful with your kid on your back. My sister in law tried that and her child moved. They both feel and got minor bumps and scratches.

    Good luck!

That's pretty much what I was thinking. Thanks!
I'm not so much worried about falling, she is very secure in the carrier and doesn't throw me off balance when she moves, I just wasn't sure if say squatting and lunging with all the extra weight dispersed only on my back would be a problem...

i say go ahead and try to do a squat or lunge, the worse that happens is that you cant!

if not, try working up to that weight with dumbbells

but if you can, try getting a few reps in and see how it feels, then keep adding reps.

we dont know what your body is capable of, only you do, so try it and let us know!
