Eating Fewer Calories On Days Without Exercise

I'm having a hard time sticking to 1200 calories on Sunday (the one day I don't workout) when I'm used to eating over 3000 calories every other day (I workout for 21/2 hours 6 days a week). Any suggestions...I've tried saving some of my calories from each day and moving them to Sunday so I don't feel deprived, but somehow I still manage to go over my caloric intake. Any help would be helpful. Thanks

wow u work out a lot! if u can get back on track on monday id use sunday as a treat day for all your hard work,
I dont calorie check sat and sunday cause i know ill go over just means itll take me a little longer to reach my goal0 -
Thanks for your input. I tend to overeat when I decide not to count my calories...one day a week shouldn't hurt too much, but I hate that it slows my progress.0

Look at your daily calorie count as a guideline and not an absolute. If you focus on your daily calories and judge the day a success or failure based on that number, you're just setting yourself up for unneccessary angst.
If you are eating 3000 kcals the other 6 days, it is understandible you are starving at 1200 kcals the other day. If you are eating 3000 calories on your other days and expending 1800 calories of exercise to do it, you might want to back off on them a bit. That is a lot of exercise 6 days a week and I can only imagine a lot of physical wear and tear, and it drives your hunger and calorie consumption. Decreasing the amount of exercise a bit and decreasing your daily kcal intake accordingly to match the decrease will provide a less drastic change in kcal consumption from Saturday to Sunday.0 -
The other suggestion is that you find out your BMR (which can be done here) and set that as your goal for each day. Coupling that with about 30 min to 1 hour of excersize per day and you WILL see results. You will also be able to not worry about eating 1200 (the bare minimum) on your off day. Eating back all of the calories from 2 1/2 hours of excersize kind of defeats the purpose anyway.0
