What foods do you consider your essentials?

I don't always eat the same thing every single day, but there are a lot of foods that are a part of my routine:
Fiber One Blueberry Muffins
Light & Fit Yogurt
salad full of veggies with a little bit of reduced fat feta, craisins and light dressing
Arnold sandwich thin with 2 slices of meat, 1 slice of cheese and dijon mustard
Jenny O Turkey burgers (frozen, individually wrapped)
Broccoli (microwave)
Sweet potatoes (microwave)
Treasure of the Sea parmesan crusted tilapia (delicious and I'm not a big fish person, frozen, bake for 20 min)
The reason I eat so much of these foods are they are relatively healthy, tasty and easy to prepare (or take no preparation at all)0 -
> my fruit, most of the time apples, oranges, kiwi, berries
> my veggies (frozen or fresh, many and any)
> low fat farmer cheese or cottage cheese, plain yogurt
> almonds
> pumpkin seed rice cakes
> fish, chicken and eggs
> black coffee
> water
> tea (green, black, herbal)
> red wine
> dark chocolate with whole hazelnuts
> good quality spices-- they make a huge difference in taste!
These foods make me healthy and happy! :-)0 -

I have become addicted to fish tacos!
On most work days, I get them for lunch from this little Mexican taqueria near where I work.
In the evenings, or on weekends ... I'll make homemade fish-wraps using frozen tilapia filets.
I'll cook one tilapia fillet on the George Foreman, adding lots of pepper and lemon pepper ... sometimes fresh lemon if I have it. Next, I'll warm up a couple of 8" flour tortillas. If I have fresh pico de gallo (another staple), I'll load them up with that, otherwise, I'll just dice up a bunch of tomato and onion. Then I add some lettuce, a teeny bit of cheese, some fat free sour cream, avocado (if I have it), and the best part of all ... a little raspberry chipotle sauce. They are amazing (if I do say so myself).
This has become my primary food source, and I would eat it for lunch and dinner every day if I could!
Other than that, I eat a lot of Kashi bars, bananas, hard boiled eggs, and the occasional yogurt & granola.0 -

I eat all of this almost every day. XP Must have my cereal with berries in the morning. And I go through a thing of strawberries within a day most of the time. I was very upset to wake up and find no blueberries or strawberries for my cereal this morning. Luckily, I had frozen strawberries which I have never tried in cereal but it was so good. I might just have to start eating frozen ones with cereal from now on.0 -

I'm more of a believer in everything in moderation...
I definitely have icecream (40g) most days after dinner - would have been low fat in Australia but the low fat versions here are rubbish haha
If I'm working, I usually have 20g of chocolate too...
and there's my recommended 2 serves of 'extra foods' !!
I won't tell you about all my healthy foods but I make sure I have carbs at each meal and try to have vegetables with breakfast and lunch. I definitely have protein at dinner but sometimes breakfast lunch and dinner! I try to eat a variety of protein sources and I usually try to make one vegetarian dinner per week.
The only foods I make a truely conscious effort to ensure that I eat (the only ones that don't come completely naturally) is dairy. Somehow I always feel that as long as I'm getting 2-3 serves of dairy, all is right with the world!0 -
