i disagree with the ones that say carbs are carbs... yes they are BUT seriously, id rather eat 500 calories in veggies and fruit than to eat 500 calories in a slice of cake or in bread or anything else that does nto have any benefits at all.
if you go to the gym and do a lot of lifting and cardio, you need carbs! but you dont want to fill up your carbs with cake and other junk. just like when people say good calories vs bad calories.. would you say theres no such thing as bad calories?
id rather eat healthy calories and carbs than to eat junk food carbs and calories such as chips and candy.0 -

I try to avoid anything that's high in carb and low in fiber. Fiber breaks down carbs.0

I have a dream, that one day bodyweight will be determined not by the color of the carbs, but by the content of the calories.0 -
yes
What's that supposed to mean?

bread, noodles, white rice, potatoes, corn.
Good carbs: fruits, veggies (including sweet potatoes)
I'd have some whole grains on the good list, too, but yes, this.
Go for less processed foods.0 -
White potatoes bad
Even funnier coming from, well, a non-white guy.
:waits for warning/strike because someone else is offended and reports post because they don't look and see the humor:

Okay, so I think you should avoid anything white and replace it with brown. Example, breads, rice potato etc. Also, as a poster said, you may have cakes and goodies of that but in moderation. Remember, everything is a balancing act. If you are looking to drop an extensive amount of weignt in my opinion then you should avoid eating goodies for now and even fruit for that matter. Yes, you can have fruits but not all day and although they contain "natural sugar" that doesn't mean that won't turn into fat if you've had too many. Try incorporating salads and anything green into your diary to see if that helps you lose. Also, we are human and we will always crave things, don't ignore your signs, you're body is telling you what it wants you just need to learn how to balance it or find ways to improvise when what you really want, is to eat ice cream or a juicy cheese burger. I hope this helps0

Dear Posters,
I wanted to offer a brief explanation for the locking of this thread.
The forum guidelines include this items:
1. No Attacks or Insults and No Reciprocation
a) Do not attack, mock, or otherwise insult others. You can respectfully disagree with the message or topic, but you cannot attack the messenger. This includes attacks against the user’s spelling or command of written English, or belittling a user for posting a duplicate topic.
b) If you are attacked by another user, and you reciprocate, you will also be subject to the same consequences. Defending yourself or a friend is not an excuse! Do not take matters into your own hands – instead, use the Report Post link to report an attack and we will be happy to handle the situation for you.
2. No Hi-Jacking Topics
Please stay on-topic within a forum topic. Off-topic or derogatory remarks are disrespectful. Please either contribute politely and constructively to a topic, or move on without posting. This includes posts that encourage the drama in a topic to escalate.
In many cases we are able to edit out the posts that violate this guideline, but unfortunately this particular thread has become too volatile to moderate efficiently.
