Please find out what your BMR is. You should at least be eating that many calories. And please don't burn more than you eat. If you do, you'll be burning muscle, not fat. Eat woman!
And please read this, it'll help you understand why you need to be eating a little more:

My bmr is 1646
Off to read - also did the TDEE calculator and it says 22550 -
Honestly, nonstopper is right. You can look at it any way you want, but refined sugars and fatty foods are always going to make you lose less weight and not gain as much muscle. Refined sugars also break down cells in your skin, causing you to wrinkle faster.
I know it sucks to learn all of this at first, but listen to the foodies and the workout pros. When you get to a certain weight and can't lose any more, they say to even cut out yogurts and some fruits (like really ripe bananas) because they are full of sugars.
Just eat a well balanced diet with lots of protein and you'll be okay.0 -
Here in Shrink My *kitten* Land the rules are different.

I can HIGHLY suggest that you add in heavy weight training into your goals. Building a little bit of muscle will help boost metabolism and will keep you from losing the muscle you already have as you may dip into catabolic states instead of anabolic during days where you may not have had as much protein/calories/(good) fats/carb ratio to sustain.
I've seen quite a few posts/success stories from those who have mostly disregarded cardio, as it wasn't working for them, and jumped into weight training. You probably shouldn't TOTALLY disregard cardio, but limit it to 1-2 days a week @ 30 minute interval training w/variations of sprints.
With the discussion of good/bad calories in your system, it comes down to controlling insulin levels. Moderating your simple carb intake from processed foods will curb hunger pangs and insulin spikes. Insulin regulation is by far how weight is lost during a diet/deficit of calories (sans all other details included). You can definitely have the occasional treat, but just be forwarned that early in your diet, the amount of insulin produced to deal with sugary substances is going to make you pretty hungry & craving chips or soda to counter balance the amount of the little buggers you produced.
You may try limiting your carb intake, but not to the point of Adkins. If you have any issues with blood sugar, insulin, or thyroid issues, check with your Dr first before hitting a fad diet or going through calorie deficiencies for an extended time.0 -

Funny, the foodie and workout pro's I like to listen to don't seem to agree, as they eat anything they like as long as it fits their macros.
You got a link to that " sugar gives you wrinkles" claim?0 -

Do you have a link to your "PROs"? that eat candy and drink soda w/ ice cream?
When is comes to a sweet, YEAH its ok to have one. ONEce a month maybe but if your someone serious who really wants results and is motivatied, i do not recommend IT n your weekly food dairy:glasses:0 -
Be patient. It has taken me about 4 months to lose 6-8 lbs but I have lost inches. At least 3 inches in my bust alone. I try not to weigh myself much cause it is depressing as hell so I have a rough estimate of my start weight and my current weight. I keep myself at 1400 calories a day but eat back exercise calories. So if I do power 90 and my polar heart rate monitor says I burnt 230 calories I will eat 1630 calories that day. I have great weeks and bad weeks where I eat over but still stay under my TDEE. You have to be patient and take it slow or you won't be able to stick with it.
I don't agree in not having any candy bars or soda but I will say that (other then today) I try to stay away from sweets and I rarely drink pop anymore. I stick with water, crystal light, powerade and unsweet tea. I find if I eat sweets and drink pop that it makes me crave other things like candy and its a slippery slope. But all things in moderation I believe.0 -

silly but , are you eating right? and drinking nothing BUT water?
If you have just ONE candy bar or just ONE soda, dont expect to lose a oz or see any kind of result that week. Yes that ONE makes a HUGE differnece. Like some people say, it take extreme dedecation. Just eat the right stuff.
Seriously???? I regular drink pop (soda) and regular consume chocolate, ice cream or chips or other snacks yet still lose. You can eat a chocolate bar or drink pop while trying to lose weight.
I'm unsure of your logic behind chocolate bars, pop and ice cream will slow down your weight loss.
Ok, but im not sure what goal you or the other person may have in fitness, but those things will slow you down 100% They are all bad calories and if your loseing weight it must be muscle because Soda is probably the worst of them all. Anyone who is at a high level of fitness can tell you. Ill run against or lift with anyone who trys these sweets and see what happens. Its fact that what you take in will affect your proformance 100%.
Nah.
When I was in what I considered my fitness goddess mode, I had a diet coke and a snickers bar EVERY DAY.
Edited: Every day = M to F0 -

Sorry but false.
If you are so sure you are correct please link to some proper studies.
Also, please tell the hundreds of people on here who have lost a lot of weight and/gained muscle while consuming fast food, sugar, and pop that they are imagining those results. Sugar, fast food, pop, etc will not cause you to gain provided you are under your maintance calories and don't have a sensitivity.0 -

rubbish!
one candy bar within a calorie deficit will not make a difference!
i agree that quality of calories is important, and you should aim to eat mainly clean etc etc, but the odd treat wont make THAT much difference.
As I sit eating a twix (after burning 1404 cals at the gym) I said with a sigh of relief ......
"thank god she said it so I don't have to"
