Needing a little motivation

Hello all, I'm kind of new to fitness pal and I'm looking for a little push! My husband is returning home from Iraq in 3 months. I'm wanting to drop those last 10lbs and tone up. My workout plan is 6 days a week, I do 40 mins of cardio everyday and also 30 mins of strength training after. I try to eat around 1200 cals a day but always end up eating less. Just a lil bummed being I have been at this for a month and a half and have only dropped 4lbs, I know it takes time but sometimes it's hard to see the same number when your working your tail off! Thanks for reading :)

stick with it.. the weight will come off. the last 10 pounds are the hardest.
  • You'll get the best advice from these guys if you open up your food diary. From the other threads hanging around it seems like everyone agrees 1200 is too little. You need the extra oomph in the calories for your workouts to be building muscle. You can probably do 1200 Calories net for the day but you need to be eating the right amount for your workouts to help you. (you didnt say whether it was total or net so just ignore this if it is net).
The best advice to using this website effectively is log everything accurately, even if you're being naughty. Its better to know where you went wrong so you can try and fix the bad habits. You're already halfway there, stick to it. Grab one of the experts to check over your routine in the Fitness and Exercise forum and maybe open up your diary and post in the Food and Nutrition forum for the best advice.
Also, are you blindly trusting the scale? Have you done measurements before?
My measurements are always a lot more reflective of the work ive put in than my weight loss.
A gain could be putting on muscle so the scales are lying because they only tell you overall weight not how much fat you've lost.

And i dont know about this one but ive always been told do your strength training first then do cardio later in the day, but im not exactly an expert. (The guys over at the fitness forums are really good though, get them to check it over).
