Hi All,
I'm looking for suggestions on where to shop for a bikini. I'm in a 12/14 and I think I need a under wire top (38C). Being a C cup should I try a halter? Do you find that if it has side ties on the bottom that it fits a bit better? Please tell me you experiences. I'm open to all suggestions. Just want to find something that fits correctly. and looks good.
Thanks!!

I swore by Victoria's Secret Body by Victoria swimwear because my girls need underwire. I have several suits from there, but they don't make any of the suits I have anymore
Lands End has some nice suits with underwire tops but they can be boring (not sure what your taste is). I have a basic black tankini with skirted bottom that is really cute.0 -
and, yes, HALTER all the way! All my suits are halter tops in some variation. I feel they look the best on me.0

I generally buy swimsuits at JcPenney's0

I've bought suits from Target, JC and Victorias Secret.
I suggest trying on all different styles, that way you'll find what you really like and feel comfortable in!0 -
I like Victoria's Secret tops, because of the bra sizing and they're just flattering and, um, uplifting ;-) in general. I usually go for halters, but also have a bandeau style with the halter strap, and one that's basically cut just like a bra. I find the VS bottoms to be generally too skimpy, though. I've recently fallen in LOVE with Athleta bottoms. They're little shorts, instead of a regular bikini bottom.
I'd go spend a whole afternoon trying on swimsuits of all shapes and sizes to see what you like best, before buying anything, though!0 -

I agree that VS bottoms can be touch and go. Plus I feel like their sizing for bottoms is so off! I think besides from being small in style their small in cut/sizing as well.0 -
I love Venus!
Great suits that last a good long time. They fit and are supportive as well...so many styles to choose from too.0 -
Nowhere, and you can't make me.0

I buy mine online from Venus Swimwear they have alot of really cute suits0

I got mine from asos I think. It's a crossed back one because halternecks give me compression headaches. Oh the woes of large chested ladies.0

I like VS but I feel like you definitely don't get the quality that you're paying for. I bought a bikini from there that I wore last summer and paid $75 total for and the clasp on the top ended up breaking (luckily as I was putting it on, not while I was wearing it LOL) so now it's junk.
I just bought an actual SEXY black lacy one-piece from Nordstrom and I LOVE it! It was more expensive but the style and fit were well worth it and the quality is way better than VS.
I'm not at my goal yet but I'm just working on loving my body no matter what and feeling good at any size, so squeezing myself into a bikini and sucking it in all summer and on my upcoming vacation wasn't really going to work for me this time. I also bought a super cute beach dress from Target to go with it.0 -
ASOS.com, look for the swim wear brand Freya- they have good looking fun prints but cater to larger chested and tops are built as supportive as bras. Asos also has a BIG clearance section so they are often quite cheap and free shipping : )0

Edit to add - I really love b.swim brand.. Their "Hollywood Halter" is amazing.0 -
Well I'm too big for Bikinis but got my current swimsuit at Old Navy and it is hands down the best swimsuit I've ever had! They have a pretty good selection online too. good luck!0

All my suits come from either Victoria's Secret or Venus. They fit awesome and last more than one season. I live in Florida so I wear them to death but I'm still wearing the ones I bought 3 years ago! They cost a little more but for good reason.
I called the customer service number at Victoria's Secret and got recommendations from the gal I talked to...I'm a 36D and she recommended straps that go over the shoulder rather than tying behind the neck. Not sure if that helps you or not. I can't wear halter styles because being 48 and nursing a kid way back in the day, they need more support than I get with a halter.0
