Hello I was in the Gym I was doing Legs had the worst leg secsion in a long time sorry for spelling. anyways I was doing squats on a smith machine. I warmed up properly it was going fine. i went into my first working set for some reason it felt heavier. I took a breather and tried another 2 sets i thought maybe ill get it its ok. so i reduced the weight and did more reps and did 3-4 sets more there was a guy waiting for the machine and he was p of a little because he keps asking i take long rest on squats. next time i will tell him u go first to avoid the hassle. i really wanted to go home but i stayed.
so what do you do in a bad gym day i dont usualy get them not had a bad leg day in ages

Could it have something to do with your diet that day? Did it change from what it may normally be? I know that sometimes affects my gym days. Also, if I haven't been sleeping well, that affects me.
I just had the same thing last night for chest and shoulders. Everything felt heavier than normal and I just felt 'off', but I had a horrible night sleep the night before.
BTW, that guy that tried to push you faster, tell him to piss off. If you are using the machine, you are using the machine. A normal, courteous thing would be "how many sets do you have left?" or "Can I work in with you", not criticizing you for taking longer rests.0 -
So days you just need to take it easier. It sounded like one of those days. That's the way I feel today. I don't go to the gym, but I work out at home. I didn't push myself as hard today because 1) I'm not feel the best today and 2) I've been pushing myself for the past week. Every once in a while you just need to take it easy. Sure work out, but make it an easier work out to give your body time to rest. :-)
Still be proud of yourself for what you did accomplish. Most people just give up all together when they have bad days. Don't give up. Any exercise a day is a good day.0 -
This was me last night. I couldnt get into doing legs so after 15 min I quit and did pilates and cardio instead. Some days youre just not in the mood.0

I used to go to the gym everyday, sometimes twice a day, but I was never a body builder...I just lifted weights and did cardio. I think as long as you make the effort to go to the gym and push your weight, it's better than missing the day. You probably just needed the rest. Me personally....when I can't lift what I normally do I just drop down in weight and keep my set/reps up to norm. Tomorrow will be a better day and you will be back where you are supposed to be.0

Meh...one of those days...I had one of those last week, just pushed through...wasn't my greatest workout, but I pushed through. I was just feeling weaker in general...still can't explain why other than, it was one of those days when I wasn't at my best. My next time out was phenomenal.
Everyone has good days and bad days.0 -
Are you eating enough? I had a crappy gym day yesterday but I was on my 3rd day of a fast so I was feeling weak. If I don't eat enough the day before I go to the gym sometimes my performance suffers.0

"A bad day at the gym beats a good day at work."
Stuff happens. Next time you'll own the squat.
I just make a note in my work out diary and keep on keeping on.0 -

This happened to me atuesday night! I whined the whole time nd it took me twice as long to burn my calories. But I ate very little that day and my trainer set a goal for me to burn 800 calories before I left no matter how long it took me. It was a lesson learned. I made it through!!! Keep pushing even when your mind tells ya to stop. Workout from your heart:)0
