So, I've been to Minneapolis a few times- but, I was wondering if anyone could give any advice on the great places to go. Will be going to a Wild game in March- and would love to tour different places! I've done the mall of America, Nicolette mall, comedy club, a few different bars... but what are some of the great places you'd suggest?! :) Thanks!

    I live in Minneapolis!!

FYI - it is FREEZING COLD here right now. Bring lots of warm clothes. Although if you're coming in March, maybe it won't be so horrible? Hopefully?

    But anyway... :)

If you're looking for a good restaurant to go to (and I suggest going there on a cheat day...don't try to fit it in your cal limit cause it probably won't happen): CHINO LATINO in Uptown. It is FANTASTIC. I am obsessed with the place. It's an Asian/Latin fusion restaurant...and so so good!

Just exploring Uptown in general is fun...I think I honestly like it more than downtown. There are tons of awesome restaurants (if you like ice cream -- Sebastian Joe's makes theirs fresh every morning and it's great!!) and cute little shops/boutique-like stores.

The Dakota Jazz Club on Nicolette is a nice place to go to listen to music and have a few drinks...it's definitely a little 'higher end' than the average bar, but not overly fancy or anything.

If the weather is permitting, Minnehaha park is beautiful -- there's a waterfall you can walk down to see (nothing spectacular, but for MN, it's nice) and it's just a really huge park you can hang out in. The park is connected to the bike/running trail that goes all throughout the city so if you're an outdoorsy person you could take a bike ride on the path - it's beautiful!

Also a nature-y place that's nice in good weather is Lake Calhoun. I'm not sure what you can do in March, but during the nice-weather months, I think you can rent boats and canoes and such there.

You can always come see my great school - University of MN :D haha! If you want to hang out in the college part of town - there are lots of restaurants and bars in Dinkytown, my favorites being Annie's (best milkshakes in the world) and Al's Breakfast (a really really tiny breakfast place but soooo worth the wait -- because there is ALWAYS a wait).

If you like art, the Minneapolis Institute of Art is a FREE art museum! And it's fairly large and quite interesting!

That's all I can think of off the top of my head, other than MOA!

Ahhh thank you, thank you!! I've never been to Uptown- I've only gone downtown, I was in a suburb, can't remember the name but it had the Toby Keith's bar.... Dinkytown- i'll have to look that up, just the name alone sounds awesome :)
I was wondering if anyone would suggest the cute little hole in the town places- will have to try some of your suggestions!

    Hole in the Wall:

    The Nook in St. Paul.

Science Museum of Minnesota is across the street from The "X". Don't know if kids are going, but the Children's Museum is down there too. Fort Snelling can be cool, and so can Harriett Island.

Where are you staying (General Area)?

Pre WIld Game on 7th St.

Tommy Reid's Hockey City Pub, to Mc Govern's, to Cosetta's, to the best rink on the planet.

Toby Keith's is in St. Lous Park....wouldn't really consider that a burb.

#1, if you're coming in March, The Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament. Bucket list for hockey fans.

Awesome, thank you for the suggestions about the pre wild game! :)

We will be staying downtown Minneapolis 1 night, and then the other night we have open- haven't really decided yet.
