Fitbit Calorie Adjustment

I am somewhat new to MFP as far as consistently tracking and using the tools here to lose weight (although, I've had an account since FOREVER ago).
I wear a Fitbit 24/7. On MFP, I have it set that I'm lightly active because I work as a preschool teacher (mostly with two-year-olds). I generally don't work out- aside from doing a little dance with the crazy kids etc. Yesterday, however, between work and going out to the mall/Target with my best friend, I earned an extra 846 calories.
I'm just worried about the Fitbit screwing up my numbers by counting every day activities as exercise calories, etc. (If that makes any sense). I'm also a little concerned about when I actually work out. While I am a big supporter of trying to sneak in exercise wherever I can, my best friend and I are looking at joining a gym. I know the Fitbit doesn't track things like the exercise bike well. Should I just override the Fitbit data for the, say 30 minutes on the bike, with a manual calorie count? Or do I manually enter it on MFP?

Everyday activities burn calories so why wouldn't you want to count them? I wear my Fitbit during exercise to get my steps in. However, I log my exercise on MFP. Once I do that my calorie adjustment for the day goes down to 0 and all I am left is calories burned from exercise. So, I know both systems talk to each other and so far it doesn't seem they are doubling calories burned. If you have the One, you push a button for exercise start and stop. If you have Zip, there are no buttons so you just remember the time you started and ended your workouts.0

Thanks. I never realized you enter your exercise start time here. That makes sense.
I am still confused as to where the line is drawn between what they count as every day activities and exercise.
And can my calorie goal on mfp go down if I'm having a particularly lazy day according to FitBit?0
