Burnt off more calories than consumed but heavier

Earlier this week, I had an exercise full day consisting of both cardio and weight training. I weighed myself the next day only to find that my weight had increased by four pound. How can this be?

You worked out, your muscles are retaining water to make repairs.

this. NEVER weigh yourself after strenuous exercise unless you want to see a gain!

As well as glycogen since the cells may anticipate another hard workout.

you can read so many topics on this. Just get off the scale and keep working, the scale will follow eventually. It is most likely water retention. You just have to be patient and if that means giving up the scale for a while, so be it! If you are good to your body, it will be good to you too.

If you dont have a tape measure get one, I lift heavy and havent seen much movement on the scale but the inches ive lost is a total different story.

Thank god i read this post!
I did two extremely hard workouts this week and wondered why I weighed a kg heavier the day after the first hard workout.
This makes me think there still might be hope for me! haha

This is why I tend to weight myself on a Monday as I have the weekend with only light exercise.
