What was I thinking?

Today I made a deal with a friend that if I would run a 5K with her this summer than she would do either a weekend backpacking our bicycle tour trip this fall with me because neither of us have a friend who likes to do those things. I HATE running. What was I thinking???? Any tips on making it more likeable? I realize being in shape is part of what makes it more enjoyable but I have been in excellent shape and didn't like it then either.

    I find iPods, friends, and structured workouts all help me. I like to listen to music, talk with friends, and follow schedules/routines to help me keep motivated and measure my success as I go.

    I'm having mental images of the "Phoebe" run from friends!!! Suppose if you were to do that you'd embarrass your friend so much they'd never ask you to go running again!
