Does anyone know if there is a somewhat inexpensive device that you can use to track how many calories you burn throughout the day or how do you measure what you burn doing weight training? Any tips would be great!
Thanks,
Michelle

I got a heartrate monitor that connects via bluetooth to my iPhone from Amazon, and I love it. There are a bunch of different apps you can use with it. Here's the link:

If you are buying something like a heart rate monitor purely to monitor calorie burn, I would definitely suggest not spending that much as none of them are completely accurate anyway and depending on the type of exercise you are doing they can actually be useless - like with weight lifting.

If however, you are also interested in monitoring your heart rate during exercise, then it will be more worth spending money on. I have the Polar FT4 which works well and is easy to set up. I use it for checking my heart rate during heavy lifts with free weights and for keeping myself 'in zone' when doing cardio.

Calorie burn during exercise is something that is usually only estimated at best, but is still useful if you are eating back your calories.

    Hope this helps.
