  • How old are you? Could you be in the early stages of menopause?? I only ask because I'm 42 and have started that myself...
  • How much have you exercised? Excess exercise can stop your periods, btw.

drastic changes in your diet, combined with lots of exercise your body is unaccustomed to, combined with stress... your body could just be a little confused. I wouldn't worry about it to much.

if your bloated and you feel like crap its def comming. just be patient. if it still hasn't come in another week then go see a doctor.

i went through this (am not pregnant) and it turned out to be a combination of stress (husband was just laid off) and then doctor diagnosed me as lactose intolerant. blood work was done to rule out liver, kidney and gallbladder issues.
  • Same thing happened to me last month ... my period finally came 15 days late .. I'm guessing it was stress and maybe my diet change

    BTW .. i'm 23

The main causes for period delay (other than pregnancy) are stress and changes in diet and exercise, all of which you are probably going through most of the time. I once missed my period for three months in a row becuase my stress levels were so high, which of course didn't ease my stress because I was 16!!!!!
  • I'm also a few days late. I have been doing Insanity consistently over the past month (I was on and off through Nov and Dec but it's just about everyday this January). I feel the hormones and bloating, but nothing yet! I'm assuming it's just the Insanity.

I would make a gyn appt. as it could be a number of things, many not so good. Better safe than sorry- esp. if you have kiddos!

I have this happen a bit with me -- one time I didn't get my period for over 4 months! I ended up having a large cyst that time and still occasionally get the cysts. But I agree with the others that said if it doesn't come in the next 1-2 weeks, go see your doctor. Better to be safe :-)

At around your age my periods started to get very erratic. I would miss periods altogether even for a couple of months. They would be very heavy and then very light. My Dr advised that I was on early menopause and my periods stopped altogether by when I was 38 yrs old.

There can be many other reasons too, as people have outlined. Great that you are going to see the Dr. I wouldn't worry about it until you get to see him.

I am 38 and am going through peri menopause. My aunt was full blown at 38 an then done. Some it just happens earlier and yes, you can start to see these things in late twenties. I started my period when I was 9 so, I just feel like, I started early so, I am hoping I will end early....

Stress can play a big part it in, just from what I know from personal experience. Maybe you are coming down with something as well? That could delay it. You should relax about it, have a bubble bath to destress, and wait until you can see the doctor.
