How do you know when you are at goal??

Well I have had steady weight loss from 190 to 152 since October... I have had so many compliments and a few people tell me I don't need to lose anymore. I never really had a number in my head, I just kept going 5lbs down till I hit that , then deducted another 5 lbs. Finally I changed it to 145 last month but have not seen any weight loss since then. I am working out soo hard and food is still the same as when I lost before.. now I am trying to figure out why I want to be 145 so bad... maybe 152-153 is what I am meant to be??
Has anyone here hit their goal and how did you know when you were done with the weight loss. I really want to be able to celebrate hitting my goal... but first I need to pick one lol
There is this new body fat measurement thing called a "bod pod" and I am going to get my accurate body fat tested... I think that may help shed some light on if there is anything left to lose, but in the meantime I appreciate any suggestions or your own stories on how you knew.

I am in the same boat. I started out at 160, in my head my goal was to get back to my normal 150. but it just kept coming off and I keep feeling better and better. When I hit my goal I set a new goal for 5 pounds more. I just don't feel like I am there yet, although I don't exactly know where "there" is. 135 is my new "goal" and I think that will be it if I can get there, but we will see what happens. Good luck to you.0

I am not at my goal right now but I don't have a number in mind because it's hard to say what is ideal between fat loss and muscle gain. When I feel good and fit is what I consider my goal weight....I can tell when I am there. I know I'm close now, somewhere between 5-10 lbs, I think. Doing the bod pod will certainly make things a little more clear. Great job on your weight loss.0

Hello!
Let me start off by saying how fantastic you look, congratulations! You are quite an ispiration for the rest of us who are still in losing mode!
I just had this conversation with my brother (has a degree in Sports Medicine and is a personal trainer) yesterday. He said rather than focusing on the numbers on the scale, there are more accurate numbers that will guage my overall health. For instance, I had a complete physical last month, Blood Pressue, Cholesterol, Blood Sugar, basically you name it, they tested it. Although the lovely scale still tells me I have a long way to go, all my other important numbers were fantastic. He keeps assuring me that weight loss is not a completely linear process and that the scale is just one of many units of measurement.
I guess my point is, even at our best, some of our bodies will weigh more than others simply due to bone density, structure, muscle mass etc. I think if you feel good and are satisfied with how you look (to the best that any of us can be) then maybe you are done with losing mode. You should feel proud.
Good luck with whatever you decide.0
