My job ?

So some of you may know I'm a samdwhich artist and today I was super busy. I feel bad that I didn't get any real exercise in today but does being on my feet burn anything?

Certainly you're burning more than I do at my desk job.

    I wouldn't count anything I do on a daily/job basis.

I only log planned, aerobic or cardio exercise that lasts more than 40 minutes.

You were doing the work as part of your life. Don't start using it as exercise.

I don't usually log exercise anyway. I don't eat those calories back. I just feel like today was a waste of time considering I didn't get any real exercise in. But I was hoping that it would help me out somehow. But I'm kinda guessing it's not going to.

Yeah, the problem with this exercise calories thing is that it's really easy to get into the mindset that "Oh, I get extra food for XXX".

But, you should eat the exercise (planned, actual exercise) calories here. That is the way this website is intended to be used....how do you have your Goals set?

Read this, you will probably get more to eat every day, and still lose weight:

I'm goingto read that when I get off of work. I actually only set my calorie goal higher then 1200 bc I know that it is okay to eat more than that but I usually dont eat the whole 1570 tht mfp says I can. Yesterday was a first in a long time. I know it may seem silly but I've been on here since 2011 and at dirt I was serious then I fell off a few times now I'm trying to stick with it which is why I try to not hbe my body a break from "planned" exercises, every time I did I usually fall off. But something clicked in my brain apparently. Anywho I don't like to eat them back I feel silly eating what I burned off back. Only on my rest day I should eat at maintenance ? Which is a Monday for me. And I have it set for a pound a week. Not trying to get let down when I don't see the scale move.

    Weight loss isn't linear.

Your body has peaks and valleys when it comes to letting go of actual Fat. You will have fluctuations due to monthly-cycle hormones, salt intake, exercise (which increases water retention), and hormonal changes related to sleep and nutrition.

Don't get too hung up on a few pounds one way or the other. Soldier on.

I know that most of the sites I've been to to calculate my calories say that sitting all day (desk job), no exercise makes you 'sedentary' whereas a 'on your feet' job puts you at 'lightly active'. Do what you wish with that information.

It should be incorporated into your activity level that MFP asks you in the begining (you can change it if you need to). I have a desk job so I am sedentary, you are on your feet alot so yours should be much higher. Then it will incorporate that into your daily totals.

You can also do the TDEE method if you want a more exact count of your activities and the calories they burn. Or a heart rate calorie monitor.
