You can't be a vegetarian and go on a no-carb diet. Also complex carbs are good for you, as are some kinds of fat. Pursue a healthy diet, don't go on one. Check out everyone else's posts on eating the right kinds of food rather than throwing whole food groups out.0

Being a vegetarian is a big commitment, you have to make a huge effort to create a balanced diet without meat. That being said I have read and heard a lot about how much healthier you can be if you cut out the animal fat you get from meat. Is anyone on the board here a vegetarian?0

Nope.......I love my meat . Uh.....um....you know what I mean!!:blushing:0 -
My best friend went vegetarian this year. But it was a long time comming. It was not over night. Take it slow. Like magdalune said, read the other posts. Not one diet works. It's all about a healthy balanced diet. You can go vegetarian and still eat high fat or high carb, or visa versa. Take small steps to change and you will see bigger results. Slow and steady wins the race.

Not a vegetarian, but I don't eat eggs and I only have meat once a week (though I eat fish more often). I think you can get most of the health benefits of being a vegetarian without giving up meat completely. Plus, you need to be careful to get enough iron if you cut out red meat.
A low-carb vegetarian diet can be done, but it's very restrictive. You can still eat eggs, dairy products and soy products, which have tons of protein and relatively few carbs. And lots of vegetables, but very little fruit (only berries).
Low-carb diets work best for people who are preoccupied with their next sugar fix. Giving it up for a while can help you get a grip over your need for sweets. When I did it, I found that (after the first 2 days) my ability to concentrate on something other than food improved substantially. Just be sure to keep low-carb snacks on hand - e.g. low-fat cottage cheese with broccoli and cauliflower; or an ounce or two of cheese - so that you don't suddenly eat a lot of carbs when you're hungry.
IT IS DANGEROUS TO SUDDENLY EAT 100+ GRAMS OF CARBS WHEN YOU'VE BEEN ON A LOW-CARB DIET FOR MORE THAN 3 DAYS.0 -

So ... were you just testing to see what kind of feedback you'd get? Or seeing if you'd get negative feedback? It sounds like that's the case. I'll remember to ignore your posts in the future.0
