I bought a side of beef

I'm pretty excited! One of my clients sold us a side of beef and we split it with two other people. This means I don't have to purchase meat for a few months! I also know where it came from, with no hormones in it, etc. Also great!
The only thing is, I'm not so sure how to log certain items. We received a variety - steaks, roasts, ground beef, and some sausages.

How would I go about logging ground beef or sausages?
Would I just assume that it's regular, rather than lean or extra lean?
And what about sausages? We picked up everything prepared from the packers on Monday. I really am not sure about it.

Any help would be appreciated!

    Hi,

We buy a side of beef yearly and a whole pig. The meat is much better and all organic. I noticed the the meat we get is leaner especially the ground beef. I have a digital scale and weigh my portion out and then go to MFP and pick the closest option. It's the easiest way I have found. Hope this helps you!
