For weight loss, deduct 15%-20% off that, and eat that amount every day.
Don't add back exercise calories if you are going to use the TDEE method.

Give it about 6-8 weeks and try not to weight yourself. You may see some initial weight gain while your body gets used to it before you start losing again.0 -
ok thank you...0

TDEE = Total Daily Energy Expenditure. This is how many calories you burn per day. If you eat this many calories a day you will maintain your weight.
You have to eat under your TDEE to lose weight, eat above it to gain weight.
A good amount of calories to eat to lose weight is 80-90% of your TDEE.
Simply multiply your TDEE by 0.80-0.90
2110 * .95 = 1793 calories.
I would eat about 1,700 if i was you to lose weight.
2110 X .85 = 1793
Your calculator needs a tune-up0 -
ha it's not the calculator, it's the typo. i meant .85, not .95.
I would never do 95% of total TDEE seems pointless. I fixed it.
I knew that, but, you know.....some people might not :laugh:0 -

remember what the TDEE is it's how many calories you need to maintain your weight. Your TDEE = 2,110
you will lose weight eating under 2,110
I've read so much about TDEE lately and have been eating more this week (resisting scales for a while) THIS IS THE MOST STRAIGHFORWARD EXPLANATION OF WHAT TO DO THAT I'VE READ SO FAR! Somebody on one of the forums wrote that they're not dieting-just doing maths....love that! all the best, Liz x0 -

Remember that TDEE is your maintenance calories and an estimate based on your inputs. You eat below your TDEE and above your BMR to lose weight in a healthy and safe manner. You would probably be good with 1,700 calories or so as stated above. If you've gone into metabolic stall with a big caloric deficit, you may maintain or even gain a couple of pounds initially while your metabolism resets. Once it resets, you will start losing again. Give it 6 weeks or so.0 -
but i dont even eat 1700 calories... some days i stay like 500 calories below 1200 sometimes 900 below if i work out ya know...0

Then stop doing that.
That's what we're saying. Eat around 1700-1800 a day. Every day. Don't add in more for exercise if you are using this method.

If you want to lose weight, the people above have told you how to do it. It's very hard to give your body 6 weeks to adjust to eating what it needs. But if you do this - you will not have to stay at very low calories for the rest of your life. Looking at your picture - that will be a long time. Do the reset. When you start losing again in 4 - 6 weeks at 1700 calories - you'll be glad you did. Good luck.0

Eat some higher fat, or higher calorie things. Cheese, nuts, peanut butter, avocado, red meat, full fat dairy, fruit. Toast with fruit jelly, potato chips.
It is very easy to eat enough with a little planning. Eat more earlier in the day if you know you will be exercising that day. Take some trail mix with you when you go out. - a handful is a couple hundred calories. No food should be "off-limits".0 -

Then go for higher calorie foods.
Examples:
peanut butter
avocado
whole fat dairy
nuts/seeds
Use olive oil instead of spray for your stir fry. Add a bit of butter/olive oil spread to a slice of bread.
There are lots of ways to add more calories without actually eating a bunch more.0 -
thank you so much0

Also, your leptin levels are all out of whack because of what you've been doing. Leptin is the hormone that regulates hunger, and leptin production follows caloric consumption. That means if you restrict your calories a lot, you will feel less hungry. If you start eating more, you will start to feel more hungry. Raise your calories by 100 a week until you get to where you need to be, and you should be able to handle it just fine.0 -

This is a good idea. I was terrified to raise my calories about 6 months ago. I did it by going up 100 cals a week until I was there. You are such a nice girl! Very refreshing that you actually appreciate everyone's advice. Best of luck to you!0 -
