Struggling with exercise

Hey everyone.

I am having some real problems doing exercise!

I started 30 days shred last week and did the first 5 days without a hitch. I went away for the weekend so I had 2 days off and was planning on starting back on it again on the monday. Unfortunately I started having some real problems. Intense muscle pain and pain in my knees and tail bone. I couldn't finish the work out so gave it a break. Then for the next 4 days I have tried doing the work out but the same thing keeps stopping me. I just can't seem to work through the discomfort. Today I tried doing some yoga instead and again... OUCH... I just gave up my muscles couldn't even seem to hold me up in half plank or downward dog!

Im just in so much pain! My tail bone is hurting me just sitting here! Im worried I have damaged myself during the first 5 days of 30 day shred? But to be honest I have had this problem in the past... I started a regular yoga routine and ended up stopping because I was getting shooting pains in my spine and legs. My general fitness levels are high, I don't get easily out of breath... its just my bones and muscles hurt so badly after exercise!

Can anyone recommend any exercise that may possibly suit me better? Or should I carry on through the discomfort?

Thanks!

I think you should start with a doctor's appointment.

Do you have a local YMCA? You could try swimming.

shooting pains in the legs could come from a back problem (e.g. trapped nerves), so my advice would be to see a doc and a physio before you continue with your exercise routine.

    Thanks guys!

I will definitely book an appointment with my doctor about this. My tail bone is feeling a bit better but I need to get to the bottom of this. I think it was the squats in the level 1 30DS that aggravated my lower back and knees maybe because I was doing them badly. I don't let my knees bend over my toes like instructed but my knees still hurt like hell after a while.

Swimming is an excellent idea! Expensive but I think some light swimming would be a great exercise for me!

A chiropractor can help too with back problems (better than any dr or physio i've ever seen)

    options are good :)

Call your local colleges and schools. Often, they have great rates for swimmers.
