Tea Pops
How to Make Flavored Tea Popsicles
For a refreshing treat loaded with antioxidants spring for a flavored tea Popsicle. Tea Popsicles are easy and cheap to make, are naturally low fat and low in sugar.
Things You'll Need:
* Popsicle tray
* Tea
Step 1
Purchase the proper equipment. You will need a Popsicle tray, tea, and Popsicle sticks if your Popsicle tray doesn’t come with sticks included in the design.
Step 2
Brew the tea that you like. For the summer choose a flavor that is refreshing like peppermint tea. You can opt for flavors like raspberry, lemon, or any flavor your heart desires. For a twist on the original throw in some fresh herbs like lavender or rosemary to make a unique taste.
Step 3
Sweeten the tea as desired. Stir in some honey, a little sugar, or lemon to taste. A little sugar goes a long way so use sparingly. If you prefer plain tea don’t add anything. If you like Chai tea, prepare as desired with milk and spices.
Step 4
Allow your tea to cool slightly. Once it has cooled, pour the tea into your Popsicle mold. If your tray has sticks built in, cover and freeze. If you need to add Popsicle sticks, but it in the freezer for about 10-15 minutes allowing the tea to slightly harden. Put the sticks in when the mix is slushy so they will stay in place.
Step 5
Be creative! Since tea popsicles are so easy and cheap to make, try different variations. Use different herbs and spices while brewing, or try different sweeteners. Choose a few different teas and layer your mold.
Step 6
Layer your mold. For a slight variation, pour tea into the mold about 1/3 of the way and freeze. Once it is frozen, pour a different flavor on top of that and freeze. You will enjoy a variety of flavor.
Step 7
Freeze. Once your treats are frozen, take them out and enjoy
