Splitting a run?

Is it just as good if I run 1 1/2 miles in the morning and 1 1/2 miles in the evening as if I ran 3 miles continually?

    In the Runner's World this month there is an article that discusses this very thing and there is a lot of positive feedback. For me, you have to do what works best for your schedule, and if splitting your running time is what works, then go for it. The only drawback I see is if you are training for a race, your body will not be used to running the distance all at one time.
  • I just have a lot of extra weight right now, and my knees/back aren't liking the strain for a "longer" run. Thanks for the input!
  • its down to what you can fit in, 2 shorter runs are much better than 1.

    I am looking to do this until the nights get lighter, and yes I had read it works well
