Someone described my body as skinny fat once, saying it's quite undesirable. I'm short, small framed, and I look thin in my clothes (size 6-8) until I take them off and it's all jiggle jiggle under there. I think I have a very high % body fat... Is that "skinny fat"????

(My goal is to actually lose most of this fat and replace it with muscle)

Thanks!!

First off, I'm sorry someone called your undesirable because they say you're "skinny fat". Skinny fat is a person who is not overweight and have a skinny look but still have a high fat percentage and low muscular mass. If you think you are skinny fat, then start lifting to burn off the fat.

Yes, that is what "skinny-fat" means. You're at a healthy weight, strictly speaking, but you're squishy all over and have a pretty high bodyfat percentage. It may not be necessarily an unhealthy BF%, but it's probably at the high end of the normal range at least. Lifting will give you the body you want, so you're on the right track.

See I have been described as skinny fat because I've lost weight and now look skinny but still have a bit of tummy fat. However body fat scales say I'm on 18.5% fat which isn't high.. anyone got any ideas on how to tone up, for instance how many sit ups I need to do to make a difference?

No amount of situps will take away that fat. It will go away when your body is ready to let it go. All you can do is keep dropping bodyfat.
