I have lost 28lb before starting MFP by eating less i didn't keep track of my calories before but I'm pretty sure it was below 1200 i didn't know then that that was bad i also did not do any exercise, I went from 159 to 131 and i have been stuck at 131 since october i need to lose 6 more lbs. to reach my goal of 125 i was told to up my calories from 1200 to 1400 since I'm so close to my goal weight i have been eating like this with some exercise, mainly just walking and some dancing but i don't do it everyday. I really just want to lose these last few pounds I'm hitting my calorie goal everyday maybe once a week ill go over but ill still be under my calorie goals for the week. Have i not lost anymore weight because it takes more time? But its been a while already or is it because my body is trying to tell me its fine at this weight or am i not eating enough or eating too much? Im going to start doing pushups everyday again, i use to do them before but stopped i started that again yesterday and now my shoulders are sore :p....help please and any advice i would really appreciate it:) thank you

Hey! ;) Dont fret its okay, the last 10 to 5 pounds is always the hardest to lose. I have about 7 more pounds to lose myself. But what i am doing differently is changing my exercise up, shocking my body, with yoga, and spinning...instead of my usually running, elliptical and stairs. Maybe your body is saying that your at a good weight, and you can just tone it now? Now as for food, im not to sure what you diet consists of but i try and do a no red meat or rice things for 30 days just for a cleanse and eating alot of vegetables and fish helps! But thats great how much weight youve lost already thats an accomplishment! im trying to get down to just 140! :) Hope this helps!

  • It's your metabolism. Check out Jillian Michael's Master Your Metabolism. It make so much sense! Or, look up a google books summary. If you want, I have written about this book on other posts, so please feel free to click the number next to Posts and it should lead to a summary (ish) that I have written. Love love love it! Good luck!

Regulate your intake to regulate your body.

Diary is all over the place.
    Just hit 1600-1800/day.
Lift weights 3x a week and walk.

    Are you taking measurements?
    Possibly youve lost body fat.

Thanks for the advice guys....maybe ill start lifting some dumbbells every night sounds kind of fun, unfortunately I don't have any equipment to do lifting for my legs though. I usually just eat whatever i want or whatever mom makes which is usually some sort of curry, i try not to eat much rice maybe once every 2 or 3 weeks. I rat whatever is in the house as long as its under my fat and carb limit, i like eating lots of fruits lots of fruits especially bananas and apples :). Its frustrating because i use to lose every week before, like every 2 weeks i would have to resize my watch band because it would be too big but now...nothing :( I hope the lifting will help, ill probably just stick to what I'm eating now and just wait it out and hopefully i will start losing again

You don't have to have equipment to do leg lifts. Google it! (LOL) Use a kitchen chair. Do squats. Use a big exercise ball and look up on line things you can do utilizing the ball specifically for legs.

YOU are doing great! I wish I were where you are at in the weight loss area. I've been working at this for a little over three months and it took that amount of time before the number on the scale began going down. BUT the good news is I have lost inches, toned up, and built muscle. I am happy with the change in my body and that I my clothes are fitting better. YEAH!!! :blushing:

yes , start lifting weights, muscle burns more calories at a resting rate than bodyfat, you should do some form of cardio, running, jump rope ect... get a good sweat going..
  • Don't lift weights every day. Your muscles need a day to rest. And remember, if lifting weights, you want to choose a weight that you can do 8-10 reps with, but that on the 9 or 10th lift, it's a bit hard to do. You want to work those muscles. And proper form, too. :) Just my two cents' worth. ;)

Nerdfitness.com has a lot of god beginner workouts that don't require any equipment. They'll burn a lot of calories n fairly short order.

Thanks for all the helpful advice. I'm gonna try to do 8lb dumbbells like 1 set of 20 rep...we have heavier weights but its like 25lbs and I can only lift it for like 2 reps. I'll try this 3x a week hopefully will see results. Thanks guys!

I weighed myself this morning and i was right I am still at 131 I'll keep trying but if I don't lose anymore should i just start eating at maintenance? My maintenance is 1620, will I gain weight eating that much if im not losing weight by eating 1420? So confused and frustrated :(
