South Beach Diet

Is there anyone out there on South Beach Diet? New to it or been on it for awhile with success? Please add me! Thanks. :)

I am on it day 1, tomorrow and could use any advice and help.

    I have been doing it for almost 2 weeks and feel great! Down 6 lbs since my week one weigh in. Can certainly feel a difference in my jeans and the way they fit. Can't wait to get on scale on Saturday and check my measurements as well. I haven't had any cravings either. I have been making many recipes from a site called Kalyn's Kitchen. So many delicious, healthy, south beach friendly ideas so we haven't been bored. Good Luck...feel free to add me!

    I did it for a long time. I ditched it because Dr. Agatston and I do not see eye to eye on sat fat, sodium, and chemicals. The trick is to get past the first 2 weeks. If you have trouble with that, make sure you're drinking your milk and eating your beans. Helps with any nausea, headaches, etc.

    thank you so much for suggesting the kalyns kitchen site!! it made me excited to restart south beach cause i was sick of some of the old recipes:) just started yesterday but feel like i have so many great options!!

    I started out doing Phase 2 of South Beach about 2 weeks ago because I had too much food to throw out or let rot. I lost 1.5 Kilos during those 2 weeks. Now that my food stores are more South Beach friendly, I'm going to try to go back to Phase 1 for two weeks. I love this diet! I usually eat like this anyway with the exception that I ate way more bread and crackers in the past. You can add me too if you'd like.

    I'm doing South Beach in combination with Intermittent fasting, which means you only eat during a limited time window -- like 8 hours per 24 hour period, the rest of the time you eat nothing (but can drink teas, water etc.). I read a lot about the medical reasons for doing this and they made sense to me (like giving your liver a break from having to work 24/7 breaking down food and also generating less glycogen so you have a better insulin tolerance). I have a pretty sluggish metabolism normally and have to take thyroid pills but this seems to help. Just my two cents worth on that.

    By the way, Kalyn's Kitchen totally rocks for South Beachers!

    I am starting South Beach on Monday (need to go grocery shopping!). Did it a few years ago and had trouble sticking with it. I am hoping this time will be better!
