Hi all. I have to say I like this and love the calorie tracker and exercise tracker but I just have one question about the tickers. I'm not sure if there is like some sort of secret rule that as a newbie I don't know about but I was wondering, the tickers that track our weight lost and it says "starting weight". Does it have to be the weight we are now as joining MFP or can it be the heaviest weight we were. My highest weight was topping 240 and I have lost about 63lbs (as of 2 days ago weight checking I was 177) and I'm kind of proud of the weight i have lost and want to be able to share it with other people who might be just starting to lose weight to know that it is possible. Should I list my starting weight as 240? or keep it at the weight when I joined which was 179?

  • no you gotta stick with your current weight or else you will confuse the whole ticker. congrats on your success though :)

cause if you put what you were it will change the calories that you are eating now to a different one.

Actually that only depends on you. I have seen people starting with the highest they ever have been and then after that putting in the new weight they have not and going from them. The ticker shows how much you lost.. why not getting the great feeling of seeing what you already accomplished when you look at the ticker, as long you update your weight after that to your current one.

Welcome! I think is also depends on you! You can put it in. It will just show that you have had a huge loss. Congrats on what you have lost so far. Keep up the great work!
  • Thanks everyone. I guess I will just keep it the way it is but if anyone does ask me in person how much weight i've lost i'll probbaly say 63lbs not 2lbs. lol

I would put a note under your ticker that you have already lost so much weight, I have seen a few on here that do that

I started 2 month in to my weight loss and I put in my starting weight from January, not March. I have worked hard for every lb I've lost. Plus, it really keeps me motivated when I see how much progress I've made. You can adjust your goals and sarting weight anytime. Do what will keep you motivated. I think that's probably the only rule you should apply to yourself, if it keeps you motivated and feeling good go with it!!

    Welcome and good luck.:flowerforyou:
