I am 51 and started this new healthy lifestyle eating and working out habit on January 4th. I have lost 33 pounds to date (still have 7 to go, as I wanted to lose 40 pounds also). I strongly encourage you to give up white flour and white sugar as much as possible and your will see big results and feel so so much better. I feel great in comparison to what I was feeling when I started. No matter what "diet" (I hate to use that word) plan you select, I wish you success. With diabetes it is so important for you to be in control of what you eat and drink for pure health reasons, losing weight is just a bonus! Friend me if you would like a cheerleader!0

Hi there! I'm pretty new here to. It really stinks when you think you did well all day and find out you really didn't! I found it really hard to keep to my calorie goal at first but after a few days its become very easy. The easiest thing for me to do was add a salad before dinner every night. The salad is low cal and helps me to eat less of the dinner. I also realized that If I add more fruit and veggies I can eat soooo much more food and feel fuller longer with less calories. ( I know some will say duh here but really I didn't get it untill now) I've never been one to eat much fruit and veggies so its taking some adjusting but I'm only on day 13 with this site and I've easily made a shift for the better! good luck to you and I hope you can manage to get the Diabetes under control0
