Oh my goodness it's a carb kinda day!! I only have a limited amount of calories left because I have been carbing it up. Pizza, cookies. ARGH!! Please share words of wisdom (please not too harsh, I'm a sensitive soul) to help me break this carb cycle.

As long as it's one day, it's not the end of the world. Reassess and get back on track tomorrow. Whether you need to plan out a little more, have handier (healthier) snacks, whatever you need to get through. No one got overweight because of one day of overeating, so this won't be anything more than a bump in the road. Good luck.

Wish I could share words of wisdom.......But I am a cereal addict, so I cant exactly talk .... Ha Ha!!!

I dont think I can live without any cereal......Yikes!!

Not sure what to say, as life with no carbs......sounds very boring!!! Exercise to burn it off, Add protein, veggies, fruit : )

    Good luck

contrary to popular belief... carbs aren't bad for you... just try to stick to slow carbs instead of 'fast carbs' when possible... Quinoa, barley and brown rice are some great examples... Beans also have a decent amount of carbs but also TONS of healthy plant proteins as well... Sugars are what kill you... If you have a sweet tooth... try going for natural sugars like fruit instead of refined sugars... same with carbs... the less refined the better, but carbs in general are not a bad thing.

    Rib eye steak.

Of course that is pretty much my answer to all life's problems.

Ate too many carbs? Rib eye for dinner.

Need a good breakfast that lasts? Rib eye!

Significant other being a jerk? Rib eye steak!

Broke a leg? Slap a rib eye steak on it!

I should ask the cattle industry to pay me for all this endorsement.

I couldn't agree more. I have yet to see a better plan proposed anywhere in the mfp forums (or elsewhere really).

It will all be okay. Let today go. Tomorrow eat lots of protein--early and often---at least that's what cuts the carb craving for me.
    Be good to yourself.

Here's my gentle as possible approach. I have to severely restrict all my carbs to lose significantly. I start with a carb "detox" for a week (30g per day), then start adding 10g per day back in a week at a time until I get to a comfortable rate of loss. The "detox" is tough, but it gets rid of the cravings and gets weight loss moving. Hope that helps.
Personally, I'm extremely carb sensitive, so mine will always be pretty low, but I've reached my goal and I'm trying to get into maintenance now, adding a few more carbs every couple of weeks.

Carbs are not evil, as long as you choose the good carbs (and stay away from the processed ones). It is ridiculous how skewed this site is when it comes to carbs. Carbs are your body's first source of fuel for workouts.

I highly recommend you read "The End of Overeating"...its a wonderful book, and will explain, in simple detail, exactly why you crave the foods you crave. It played a significant role in my changing my relationship with food, enabling me to achieve my weight loss.
