how the world has changed, people keep saying $1.5mil is not much, I'd f******g love $0.15mil, it would change my life.
But yeh, high taxes and low interest rates both sides of the Atlantic have stuffed things.
Let's just tuck into the meatloaf...0 -
2x£300,000 on a property.
Rent them both out for over 2x£1,200 per month
£400,000 invested for retirement
Take my £2,400 per month and get on my bike and travel the world.
Finally return to whichever part of the world that I consider paradise that is relatively cheap to live in and that would have me and stay there buying place on the beach with some of the money from my investment and live off the income from my rental properties back in London. Plus I'd still have invested money to back me up.0 -
1) Pay off all of my family members' mortgages.
That leaves me with about $1 million.
2) Buy a couple of fun cars.
My taste isn't ridiculous, so that leaves around $900,000.
3) Hubby and I would quit work and finish our degrees.
Two years of current life expenses (minus mortgage!) + tuition costs leaves about $700K.
4) Open a flight school after finishing college.
Depending on the type of school & location, could have some leftover...
5) Invest whatever's left into our retirement fund.
So where do I sign up???0 -
500k on coke and hookers, I'd waste the rest.

$500K in a CD for retirement
$500K towards a nice house or condo
$500K to invest in the market in mutual funds/dividend stocks to generate income.0 -
Really?? Is no one thinking the power you would have??
I would invest half of it into the creation of a real-life Jurassic Park and the other half on the creation of a flux capacitor. Which, you all know, is what makes time travel possible.

buy a couple of $100k-$150k houses, do a quick reno, and rent them out.0

Family. I'd set them up as best I could. Kid needs college money, parents need money to retire on. After that, plane ticket out of this country. Or grad school. Not sure which. Not sure there would be enough left for grad school, so probably plane ticket. Is this before or after taxes?0

Sure I do!
Baby carrots : $2.50
Cucumbers: $.59 each
Yogurt: $4.99
Lean Gourmet meals: 10/$10 (at Kroger! ahh!)
bread: $3
Strawberries: usually 2/$5 unless there's a sale!
Oh, and I used to work at a movie theater, so I also know movie theater prices, too....0 -
Pay off my student loans.
Pay cash for my senior year.
Get a decent apartment.
Purchase a MkV GTI and do some work to it.
Get a puppy.
Give my parents a chunk of it - they deserve it.
Save the rest, cause I'm young and will probably need it someday.0 -
Invest in Real Estate.0

Not very exciting but...
I'd buy a new house for myself, and maybe a few smaller houses and rent them out. It would keep the money coming
Buy my dream car-- A jeep wrangler. Fancy, I know.
Give some to my mom.
Take a vacation. Hawaii?
And of course, go on a few shopping sprees.
I'd probably put the rest into a savings account, or invest it. And maybe donate some. I'm a big supporter of the ASPCA.0
