Hello!
I'm new here, I've been doing this for 3 days on my mobile but only just signed up via the website. I was hoping someone might have some advice on whether my current diet is ok and my crabbiness/tiredness is just sugar/carm/alcohol withdrawals or if I'm lacking in something?
My daily calorie goal is 1200, so far everyday I've had wholegrain toast with a scraping of butter at breakfast and my one (precious) cup of caffeine a day. lunch is a salad made of spinach, tomatoes, avocado, cucumber, and a squeeze of lemon. dinner is similiar, a mix of raw veg and some baked pumpkin or beet and also either tuna or salmon. liquid intake is water, 1 cup of caffeine, and as much hot water and lemon+ginger as I want.
Exercise is mainly a round of tabata a day, usually get in a sesion of swimming a week plus a couple of 30 min walks.
thanks in advance for any responses!

Open your food diary. No one can really help you otherwise...0

How tall are you? How much do you want to lose?
I'd start by changing your loss per week from 2 pounds to 1 pound and that'll give you more calories to work with.
Also, if you are using MFP default settings, they recommend you eat back your exercise calories.0 -
thanks for your repsonses, just trying to synchronize my food diary now.
I'm 5'4. not really feeling hungry, just crabby, but maybe see what happens if I switch to 1lb p/w.0 -
You're eating really good food. Maybe add a few more carbs, though. You are low on them. Your protein is great!! Are you lifting?0
-
thanks I'll try adding some 'good' carbs. Nope, no lifting, just cardio0
-
You might want to eat more.. 1200 cals isn't enough.. I am 5'4" also and my cal is set for 1460 to lose 1lb a week.. sometimes I am under sometimes I am over but I am rarely hungry..0

My suggestion would be to be sure to include two snacks each day...one morning, one afternoon. This will help keep your blood sugars level. A drop in blood sugars can cause moodiness and fatigue. Be sure to take in enough healthy fats as well, our bodies need a certain amount in order to function properly! Too, do you eat all 1200 cal/day? it doesn't seem like what you're eating has many calories to it. Try to never be under 1200, i actually just switched to lose 1lb/week instead of 2lbs and I'm now at 1600cals/day, much less tired and more satisfied throughout the day.0

You could try more protein earlier in the day, have an egg with one piece of toast.0

Eat more! I would bet your calorie goal is set too low.0

I'm not sure that the nutrition facts are correct on your salmon-the calories & especially the protein seem freakishly high, unless it was like 3 servings.0

I thought that about the salmon too! But I looked it up on google and apparently it is very high in cals, good fats but high nonetheless.
the 1200 figure is what MFP suggested, but I'll do as some of you have suggested at change my goal to 1lb p/w in stead of 2lb, and hope the extra calories make me feel better.0 -
Yeah, that is a huge bit of salmon!!0

That salmon seems awfully high. I often have wild Alaskan salmon and even when I have 2 fillets, it only comes to about 260 calories.0
