Help needed???????

Ok I feel as if I am doing something wrong with the diet plan. I am on a medication from the doctor for weight loss which is 90 days. I have been taking it since Jan. 21st along with eating healthy and exercising, and I have only lost 9 lbs. I have been working out like crazy doing 2 hours & 30 minutes of physical/Intense workouts and stay under my calories. I try to stay active and on my feet all the time but feel like with this pill, the healthy eating, and exercising, plus the calories I have been burning that I am doing something wrong. I talked to my specialist that said to not eat back your calories you burn if you want to loss weight, so I have not eaten them back. Any suggestions from anyone!!. I know one thing is that I need to incorporate more fruit and veggies in my diet which I have incorporated more lately than I ever have which is a plus and a small start..
I know that my coffee intake brings down my calories by 300 which is something I plan to change. I am also scared to push to hard in my workouts because I have been so unactive in the past 4 years and have a bad knee so I try not to push extremely hard. Is that the problem? I just feel lost in the whole eating right thing- exercising- and calorie thing . I think I am doing it but am I really?
Any suggestion would help. I can take constructive criticism, and the honest truth so don't hold back as if you think it will hurt me. I can take it because I need the help, and I have to listen and learn!!!!
Calories per day - 1480.
Consuming per day - between 1300-1400
Working out daily - 2 hours & 30 mins - physical/Intense workouts

You need maybe to take it easy , listen to your body be patient drink more water do not need to lose that fast I do believe that your doing great . Everything worth will cost you continue working out and logging your intake and leave the scale alone for a week
You'll get there0 -
9lbs. is fantastic. I looked at your diary and I didn't see anything that was detrimental. I would add veggies before I would add fruit because your glucose can start a roller coaster. Maybe switch to tea instead of coffee (lots of hidden things in the things you add to coffee). You drink tons of water, so I don't see an issue there. Do you take a daily vitamin? You may wish to add one if not. I also suppliment Vitamin D for moods, energy, absorption of calcium.

9lb since Jan 21st is a lot - that's only 16 days. The maximum recommended weekly loss, medically, is generally 2lb/week, so you're well ahead of the curve.0

You've "only" lost 9 pounds in 2 1/2 weeks.... Ok, first, stop that "only" BS. Seriously... That's 3.6 pounds per week on average so far which is above and beyond the healthy rate of 1-2 pounds per week. This is not Biggest Loser, you are a normal person with a normal life (with or without pills and a highly restrictive diet). So yes, as the other poster said, be patient.
What did you doc think about your weight loss?
Does your doctor know that you're working out for 2 1/2 hours a day? That is excessive whether or not you aren't doing a super intense workout and I would think eating back at least some of those calories would be necessary.
Definitely look into taking down the calories for your coffee. Something I feel pretty strongly about is avoiding drinking any calories. I'd much rather eat an orange and be more satisfied form not only more fiber but the sensation of chewing something than just drinking the same amount of calories of orange juice.0 -
I would agree with the other posts. You are doing a fantastic job! Keep up the hard work. Just remember, this isn't a marathon race or a diet. This is a lifestyle change. It is about YOU. Don't be so hard on yourself. You are working hard and the results are showing! You might not want to eat under your calories, but hit it as close as possible.0

9lbs in 2 weeks is amazing!
Just keep at it and focus on the long term goals0 -
Ummm. Having read your profile, I just wanted to point out that phentermine is not a legal prescription drug in most western countries for very good reasons - its' side effects can be, and have been, lethal. If your doctor wants you on a diet pill, I would very seriously consider asking him/her to review which drug is most suitable for you, especially if you are exercising so intensively. Many of the highest risk factors are cardiovascular and your profile sounds like Phentermine may be contraindicated for you. Other drugs function differently and are less risky. Just a heads-up - I would highly recommend checking with your doctor, and/or getting a second opinion.0

The doctor put me on Phentermine 37.5mg once a day in the AM one hour before breakfast. I take a multivitamin daily. I actually take the prenatal ones because they have more in them than regular vitamins, and the dr said it is good to take them. I weight myself once a week because I know there is fluctuation in your weight day by day.
As for the coffee I am switching the coffee from the pumpkin coffee (DD seasonal- no longer available) to half regular/ half decaf which is 0 calories plan with nothing in it. If I add my sweetner which is 0 calories, and use the Silk Almond Milk- Vanilla it will be only 23 calories.. So the total for 3 cups of coffee would be only 23 calories versus the 300 calories at this time I am consuming. That is a big change and I can still have my coffee.
Veggies & fruits - I love them both and always havebut just never ate them like I should. I am now eating them but do you have any suggestions as to how many a day and what veggies are good to eat. I am going to try spinach even though I am not sure I will like it because I have tried it and wasn't fond of it, but willing to try again. I eat baby carrots, green bell peppers, cucumbers, lettuce (iceberg, and romaine), fresh green bean strings, radishes, and fruit is the basic - apples, oranges, kiwi, banana's, and fruit in the can that is sugar free and low in calories!!0 -
You lost 9 lbs in less than 3 weeks and you think that's not enough? That is pretty rapid weight loss! You need to be more patient. It's unlikely that you will even continue to lose as fast as you are now for long. You didn't gain the weight overnight and you are not going to lose it overnight (without surgery).0

9 lb in 16 days?! That is a LOT girl... have you been told to expect how much?
Check out the success stories. People lose 40-60-80 lb over a YEAR or so. That is the type of weight loss that stays. Don't rush it, you'll get impatient, and don't stuff down food you don't like - you'll get impatient AND craving-hungry.
Spinach: I don't like it raw or just steamed either. But sautee minced garlic on butter, add spinach, pour a glass of white wine in, boil the alcohol away, put shredded parmesan on top - there's your yummy yummy dish.
or mix the whole thing above with 2 eggs and bake an omelette/frittata. Still under 300 cals.0 -

Your right lol I didn't gain it over night and I am not going to loss overnight...I just need to boost my self-esteem, confidence, and self-worth in myself. Long story short, bad marriage took all of these and I am fighting daily to bring them back.. I know I should be happy that I lost 9lbs in under 3 weeks, and I thank everyone for your kindness and honesty!!! The lack of the three things I mentioned play such a strong role in my life and it sucks that I let it, but I need to change for me, and do this for me. It should be all about me, and I will make it all about me!!!!!! :bigsmile:0 -

Seriously 9lbs in 16 days! If you think you're doing something then your problems might be better addressed by a mental health professional, and I'm not trying to be snarky here, I'm serious, our head gets in the way of our success more often then not and you are running a marathon here not a sprint so talk to professional. You might also want to consider what's going to happen when you aren't taking a pill, if you freak out about 9 lbs not being enough how are you going to react when you're working your butt off and you're lucky to move the scale a pound in the same time frame?0 -

I know I should be happy about 9 lbs in that little of time. Yes you are right maybe I should talk to someone and maybe this will help me in my weight loss journey. I know they have people talk to a theraphist when you consider any type of weight loss surgery because if you mind is not right then you have a hard time when it comes to losing weight. It affects you overall menatl status which affects your progress. I also want to Thank you for you honesty and being straight forward with me!!!!0
