Consistency.

Do any of you have any issues with consistency of any form? Either with your work outs and not getting them in regularly. Or perhaps keeping your diet clean and up to the way you are aiming for? Or keeping on target with your calorie goal, whatever! If so how the heck are you dealing with it?

I havent leant fully how to deal with it as yet.... but i have gotten better though, cuz before it would be months of inconsistency.... so i just try not to stay off for a long time..... but i believe i will get there soon with the consistency... just remind yourself of why u are doing this.....look at the sucess stories over and over.... it helps me. All the best.

Yes. Life can be hard sometimes. I need to get back to mornings but that starts with getting to bed earlier which has its own issues.

I run an accountability group, and I'm in another group. I Know i have to check in with others, and it helps my accountability to make sure I'm doing Something! If I can't get to my workout, I still have to do some movement, and make sure I'm watching what is going into my mouth!

I find the groups are Very helpful.

I think we all can relate when it comes to making sure we stay on top of our workouts and eating. Me personally I just do what I can. Sometimes things pop up and I have no choice but to change it up for that day or for however long. Just do what you can. Make exercise a priority. Make better choices with what your eating or better yet how much of what your eating. Give 100% and keep a level head when it comes to your goals. Don't think too much about everything. Clear your mind and do what's right for you.

I find the more it becomes a habit or part of your daily the routine the more consistent you are. I try and walk to and from work on days that it is not deathly cold, I make exceptions for weather that is -30*C or below, I walk 1/2 the way and take the bus for the other 1/2.

I get up from my desk every hour and take a 5 minute walk.

I am still trying however to get a routine for at night so that I can be absolutely consistent.

Yup. I'm not perfect, but I have learned to roll with the punches especially when I go to my in-laws, who are italian and there is nothing but carbs everywhere. I have to remind myself that I'm doing this for me, and tot eat only if I'm hungry and that things that are made to sit on the store shelves for a long time are not healthy for me, they will shorten my life. Otherwise I binge and tell myself I can start over on Monday, which is unacceptable in my eyes.

I am up and down - I'll be all over it for a while then way out there for a while. I really need to rain it in and do what ShellaLovee1 said:

Most of all don't let a slip turn into a fall or beat yourself up, just pick yourself up and move forward.

I ONLY count calories. I only weigh once a week or once every two weeks. I look at my AVERAGE for the week to see if I have stayed below my goal. If I overeat one day, I make up for it the rest of the week by eating less and/or light exercise. I eat whatever foods I enjoy so I never have cravings.

I have lost seven pounds this month.

    Good Luck!

I think everyone one does to some degree, especially when first starting because it is to easy to slip into old hapits. What has probably helped me the most (and I'm definitely a work in progress) is really looking at why it works when it does, and if I slip REALLY get honest with myself as to why it didn't work. All you can do is learn and try to improve. Be patient with yourself, but don't be do indulgent with your "oh well, tomorrow is a new day" because that excuse only lasts for so long. :)

It takes a while to make a healthy lifestyle a habit and it really helps if you can learn the "triggers" that lead you to lose focus. For me it's complacency after achieving a goal. For you, it might be the same or stress, boredom, frustration or something else entirely.
Figure out what it is and how to deal with it before you lose track.

I know I couldn't commit to working out and eating right every single day for the rest of my life but I can commit to making sure there are more good days than there are bad.

I'm quite good about my workouts because I really like going to the gym as it's the only part of the day when I can be on my own (as it were, not with friends/colleagues) and go into my own world and think about things.

Having said that, with my friendship group it's very hard to stay within the 1200 limit as we go out quite a lot, and 1 drink turns into 3, and it's always cocktails, and then snacks and ah disaster! Still I'm learning to make better choices and also I'm looking at a lifestyle change, not a quick fix. And it's just not feasible for me to give up alcohol or the odd plate of nachos/pizza etc. I'm only human :) I exercise so I can still eat those things and not feel guilty, but I just try to make sure it's not every night!

As somebody before me very wisely wrote, don't let a slip become a fall. Just remember why you're doing this in the first place and the more involved you are with people on here, then you'll find the inconsistency becomes less frequent!
