There's no way my BMR is 1800 ... no way in hell.. and no way my body fat percentage is 27% >_< I dont trust it.

Even MFP calculates it to be less. And the good thing about MFP is that it actually wants to know my height.. that other site doesn! Im so confused x__x

And Im pretty sure my body fat percentage is much higher.

The numbers I just ran have your BMR around 1675 according to Harris Benedict. Also, online calculations are just estimates and it's possible you calculated a sedentary TDEE instead of your BMR. Body fat can be higher but it's hard to say.

    they get tricky.

I am 5"4 inches tall and 183 pounds. it says mine was 1,830 so I am thinking the same thing .
  • Get it professionally measured.
  • Well the confusion comes from this

I tried following the guide.. And the site tells my my ideal goal weight is 163 pounds.. Which i highly highly doubt. Because when I was at that weight, I still had too much fat! And the guide tells me I should not go below the BMR because then bad things happen... So Im scared that I might be under eating at 1300~ a day... But it doesn't make sense that my BMR should be 1600-1800 ... Would I even lose weight at that amount? I'm pretty sedentary at times.

I guess I should just consult my doctor... Im due for an appointment anyway x_x

Like 95% of the women I work with eat 1700-2100 calories. The bigger question is what is your workout routine? Even if we take the lowest of the BMR estimates, is 1650 (rounded). If you do no workouts then your calorie needs are:

    TDEE = 1650 * 1.2 = 1980
CN = 1980 * .8 = 1584 ... So call it 1600 calories for you needs. It's OK to eat below your BMR, or at your BMR is you are sedentary. It's those who are very active that need to eat more.

If you workout 3-4 x a week, the multiplier is 1.375
    5-6 days a week 1.55
several hours each day for 5-6 days a week 1.725

The thing is there is a difference between someone at 163lbs and low body fat and someone at 163lbs with high body fat

Depending on how you workout and diet ect - it's highly possible when you were at 163lbs before you were likely skinny fat - have a look at strength training and if you do a weightlifting program along with some cardio while eating at a small deficit you will drop body fat rather than muscle

I'm 99.99% sure MFP guesstimates my BMR too high too. At least by 100-200cals.
I'm studying to get a few licenses in health & nutrition & hoping some of this BMR / TDEE business is more like a guideline, cuz as times it can piss me off lol.

It makes perfect sense. You just don't like the outcome.

This is very true. But a lot of people on here will be fine if you eat 1250 calories & pissed off at you if you eat 1150 lol.
