Im getting almost scared of my calories

My goal on MFP is currently set to 1,600 which is in between my TDEE an BMR.
I can only eat about 1,400 - 1,500 a day. I find it SO hard to eat to my goal.
And I'm literally snacking all day and night.
I dont even think I ate this much when I was putting on weight, so it's starting to put me off a bit....
If anyone wants to check out my diary its public, and maybe offer me some advice or suggestions.

I only looked at two days, but you could have eaten a whole egg mixed with egg whites this morning. You could have had 8 nuts instead of 4. idk, 4 nuts doesn't seem like snacking all day. But I like food so...0

Looking at your diary, it looks like just adding a serving of peanut butter to go with the apple or banana would do it0

Oh, I only eat 4 almonds because I dont like them that much, haha! I could always suck it up and chew 'em and eat more for the calories. Ever since changing my foods I havent really enjoyed eating like I did other than a source of fuel.
Hm, yes. Maybe ill start adding in a whole egg with the egg whites.Looking at your diary, it looks like just adding a serving of peanut butter to go with the apple or banana would do it
OOooh, good idea! See, this is why you guys are so helpful.0 -
My guess is that you had no clue what you were eating before. Stick with what you are doing for a month or 2 and see what the results are then adjust accordingly. You didn't gain the weight in 2 months, losing it wont happen in 2 months either.0

Probably. I was probably just eating a crap-ton of calories, but only eating a few times a day. I assume the same.
And yeah, it sucks. You hear about all these people who lose 50+lbs in 5 months and when you get barely any results it's almost frustrating.0 -
I would eat more than just fruit and yogurt for lunch- add a small sandwich! I agree with adding peanut butter- that's a good yummy way to add calories, and there's nothing wrong with whole eggs. If you cook, you can always use olive oil/coconut oil for some healthy fat and calories.0

I should switch to olive oil. I've been using margarine.
Thanks so much guys!0 -
You sound similar to me. I think what is going to help us both is finding snacks that might push us up to what we need to take in. That way it's not a lot more food risking going over.
I know it's hard to count calories, I hope at some point it becomes 2nd nature because I would hate to feel like I had to count them all the time.
I want this to be a way of life but enjoyable not like homework 24/7
Good luck add,
me if you would like.0 -

Yeah. I need to find some high calorie healthier snacks. Because sometimes I get frustrated, so what do I do?
Find some high calorie cruddy food to take its place. I heard as long as you eat less than what you burn it doesn't matter what you eat to lose weight -- but Im trying to stop damaging myself on the inside just to look good on the outside. Added you!0 -

That is a sure recipe for failure. You want to have a diet you can live with, and part of that is enjoying some of your favorite, albeit less healthy, foods. If you're having trouble eating enough, give yourself one of those treats you have "given up". As long as you are within your calories, there is no harm and that will make it easier to stick with it for the long run as well.0 -

I totally get you. And yeah, I know it is. But the past 5 years of my life have been eating nothing but .. plain crap. Junk food crap. So for me, it's more turning around everything I use to eat and eating new things. If I ate what I liked all the time, even under my calorie budget, I'd be at my weight goal eventually .. but very unhealthy internally. I do cut myself some slack and eat things I like: just the other day I had a jimmy dead for breakfast and some potato chips for a snack, and today I had some butter loaded popcorn. But thank you! I totally know I should cut myself some slack sometimes, in the other percentage of the time, Im going to say hey, you're eating this, to myself. It's all just new! After realizing all I use to ate - I feel disgusted, but the attached part of me still says Im going to eat that stuff every so soften! I doubt Ill ever go back to eating over calories. So no worries there, its more or less the what I intake concern.0
