So I am just a little confused. I have lost 29 pounds and too my excitement all of my old clothes fit again so I know I am shrinking. BUT when I had my measurements taken today I had only lost 1 inch off my waist and 1 off my hips. 9 inches in total. I would think more should have come off waist. Am I looking at things all wrong here???? I like my belly and thighs the least about my body and have tried my all to shed the body fat!

You can't dictate where/when fat is going to come off.
9 inches is a lot, and you also have a long way to go before you are at goal it looks like.
Make sure that you are strength training properly, and eating enough so that you retain lean muscle mass.0 -
I'm the same way. It seems to come off my belly very slowly and that's exactly where I want to lose it! All I can do is continue to work on it and eventually it'll happen. I also have to accept that I don't have one of those lovely hourglass figures so I'll never have the kind of waist that I'd like to have. But I can work towards making it the best it can be.0

First of all, congratulations on your 29 pounds! That is no small effort, and you should certainly be rewarded for your progress thus far.
Regarding the inches...
I know for me, as well as for others who have posted, I tend to lose what 'seemingly' feels like the least around my tummy area. But then again, I'm carrying a lot of my excess weight in that area.
In actuality, when one is losing weight, you are losing weight at an equal rate from all over your body. So, if you had extra pounds in your tummy area, or hips, thighs, buttocks, wherever, you'll physically see the manifestation of change in those areas of the body that, expressed as a percentage of your total weight loss goal, have the least amount to lose (such as arms, chin, chest, etc).
Although it can be a bit frustrating not to see bigger changes where we really want to see them (for me: waist, buttocks, thighs), I try not to lose focus of those areas where I am seeing changes.
Again, congrats and keep up the great work!0 -
