Okay I am just confused and I guess trained that i should eat minimal calories to loose weight. MFP has me set to eat 1410 cals a day. But I was thinking more 1600... well I did the numbers ive seen in the forums and it seems like a ton of calories
Im a female
260lbs
65 inches tall
I do 90mins of cycling a day around 12-13 mph
30 day shred or circuit training for 20 mins
And strength training 30mins 4-5 days a week.
Sounds like a lot to some but unless im busting my booty i never loose!
Any ideas does that seem right for me. Im such a noob at this stuff lol!

I'm guessing that 1410 is without your exercise so you have to eat back all or at least most of your exercise calories. That is how MFP works and for your weight I am sure 1410 with all that exericise is not enough.0

Hiya, I plugged in your numbers into the calculators at http://www.fat2fitradio.com/ and it has you at BMR 1951. (You didnt say how old you were, I just put 30). You should not eat less than this and then eat back your exercise calories. So yes the 2000 sounds right.
Using the TDEE -15-20% approach, if I put 200 lbs goal weight and moderate exercise routine which you outlind, it has you at 2619 calories. If you eat this much, dont eat back your exercise calories.
So there you go, between 2000 and 2600 calories a day is reasonable and as your weight drops, you will need to adjust this.
Good luck0 -
Sorry to hijack a thread but can someone explain to me this 'eating back your exercise calories' please?
I have a BMR of 2276, and tend to do between 600-800 calories a day exercise wise.0 -

When you put your info into mfp, it automatically puts you at a calorie deficit. So, if you do a lot of exercise, you might want to eat more to "eat some of the calories back", so that you don't go too low on your calories.0 -
Thank you so much for the help and hit my age right on. Okay at least its starting to make sense that the day i had a cheat meal of a cheeseburger and went to 1900 cals I lost half a pound. Just seems crazy all these years dieting so low that i can eat more cals and loose. And I normaly eat pretty clean so im going to have to get creative to intake more cals.0

Ditto ^^^ I would suggest just putting your cals at 2000 and try to stay between 1900 and 2000. Work that for a couple of weeks and see how that works for you. I would also suggest relaxing a little bit on the fitness. Your muscles need time to rest and recoop. With that much working out they are probably holding onto some water too. And re-evaluate what other substances you've got entering your body like foods, drinks, medicines, birth controls, and so on. Every woman is different and she reacts differently to various things entering the body.0 -
I cleaned out my body about 7 months ago no cola no birth control no meds at all a multi vitamin fiber supplement and extra vitamin d. I only drink water and green tea. I always have worked out a ton. Ive had arthritis since i was 2 and if i dont workout everyday my joints lock up and im miserable. I sometimes wonder if the weight is sticking around because i have no gallblader or appendix.0
