This week has been a total train wreck!

I have done so well for the last month, and haven't felt deprived at all. Have been exercising and losing weight. This week though, for no reason at all, I have let my lack of willpower get the best of me. Of course it's in the evening, i do great all day long and then at night after dinner i just want to eat. Not hungry, not even really craving, just eating to eat...and yelling at myself the whole time, yet not stopping. 3 nights in a row! I have no reason and make no excuses for this behavior, I know exactly what I am doing as I do it and yet I didn't make myself stop ...any body out there that has any idea how to regain my focus or just give me a good swift kick in the a**!

It's so hard to break out of this. I sympathise - I tend to eat too large an evening meal and sometimes a snack too. Also am fond of alcoholic drink in the evening. Every day you're disappointed and you know the scales will tell on you in the morning...
Hang on in there though. I managed to get restarted properly after Christmas but am now in this slump again after 5 months. I believe I can make it through and I believe you can also. All the best with it.0 -
You are the conductor...decide where you want to go and point the train in that direction!0

First of hi,
Secondly, dont beat yourself up, you are on a journey. A very difficult one that takes guts, will power and an inner strength that is sometimes hard to find.
1, My best advice to you is remember your goals when you set out!
2, You may have already dropped a dress size, so congratulate yourself.
3, And lastly and most importantly, you will slip, we all do. But dont feel guily about it, enjoy it. If you want that burger or Roast dinner with all the trimmings then have it. A bad day at the office always happens, its how you react to it that counts.
So look at points one and two, accept your guilty pleasures without kicking yourself, and start again. One or two bad days does not cancel out a month of hard work, so remember that. I personally think its helps to re focus.
Good luck and I hope this helped.0 -
that was me last week, I had everything in the book, pizza, fries, cheeseburger, McDonald.. name it I had it. Back in the right direction this week. We all mess up, it's how fast you are going to get back on the train that matters. Don't beat yourself up.0

Exercise in the evening when you'd usually binge Even something fun and light like hula-hooping whilst watching tv... just something to keep you occupied0

Why not try planning your evening snacks ( time and place) and saving calories for them. I frequently do this and it helps get me through the tough times. Frozen grapes with a sprinkling of crystal light are yummy as are pepperidge farm zesty chilies and lime crackers with a tablespoon or two of guacamole dip. I find giving myself PERMISSION to snack occasionally really helps to eliminate the guilt.0

I've refined my eating habits (again!) but for the first time ever haven't slipped once in the first 5 weeks. What's different? I haven't got any 'bad' stuff in the house! For January it we decided as a family to not have biscuits, crisps, cakes, chocolate or sweets to that was easy. February i still haven't bought any because it saved me £50 in January so the kids and husband will again do without.
It sounds really harsh that they should suffer because I can't control myself but in reality, no-one is missing the rubbish. instead of biscuits, the kids have fruit or toast or crumpets and the boys teenage acne is looking much better! Win win really.0 -
In the evening when this mood strikes you, can you get outside for a long walk? I sometimes have to do that on the weekend when I have too much time on my hands.
Another idea- after you've eaten your planned food for the day, floss and brush your teeth meticulously.
Another- don't keep yr binge foods in da house!0 -
I have the same problem! I know that my "naughty time" is after dinner, so I try to stay busy. I'll do my ironing, blogging, laundry, cat box scooping - anything to keep my hands busy! After dinner is also when I plan my meals for the next day, so I am here on MFP which has a psychological effect on me and my desire to keep eating when I shouldn't. Don't beat yourself up - we all slip from time to time.0

TY everyone! For the support and great ideas! I needed to hear all of that!0
