    5'11" here :)
  • 5'11" as well and would love to add any of you tall ladies! Being tall makes me even more uncomfortable discussing that number on the scale because it's so much higher than what is considered a "female" weight.

    I'm 6'1" :o)

I don't think the OP was being harsh to the shorties out there and while I appreciate the support of my MFP buddies whatever height/weight/gender they are it's nice to have friends on here that understand the weight loss frustrations of a tall person such as:

    - it takes 30+ pounds to drop a single dress size.
    - It takes 50lbs dropped for someone to notice!
    - "youre just big boned"
    - "You carry it so well cos' you're tall"
    - "You dont need to lose much more- you'll be a stick" (someone said this to me recently..... I had a BMI of 36 at the time!!!!)
    - Trying to do aquaerobics but your torso is completely out of the water!
    - Trying to get nice gym gear but finding out that all joggers stop at 33" inseam!
    - Ditto about the gym shoes- having to get mens because we've (generally) got ruddy great feet.

i'm about 5'7".... my only tall problem I can think of is heels and being taller than men, which isn't a problem if you're super secure with that. But I'm not. Haha

5'10" here (although I used to be 5'11" but have shrunk due to aging and just plain being fat and the arches falling in my feet).

5'10 here. I was at my full height of 5'11 by 13 but lost an inch due to anorexia when younger.
I am only just really learning to not resent my height.

Well I thought i was tall, 5'9'' but not so much anymore!! :)

    Same here!
  • Hi there.

I was tall my entire life. 5'9, the tallest in my class. Taller than all the boys - always received attention from the older ones...and I was thin for most of my 20's & 30"s. But I didn't know it and I was always so tough on myself because I was bigger than most but I was beautiful.

Today, I am much heavier, and I have shrunk 1.5 inches. I went to the nutrionist the other day and she measured me at 5'7" 1/2. I was flabbergasted. So, it's not only in my head... I am shrinking....

Just one more reason to get the weight off.

    Good Luck.
    Theresa
