May sound like a silly question but do colds make you dehydrated??? Is that why people say drink plenty of fluids and also why I might have lost weight if I weigh in tomorrow? I'm on day 3 of a stinker...

Katy - I don't know if colds make you dehydrated but I think that the idea behind increasing your fluid intake when you're sick is to flush all the crappy germs from your system. It may just be an old wives tale that was started to try to force people to increase their water intake, but it sounds logical to me. Sure hope you feel better soon! If not, I understand that rum is a liquid, too, and it'll make the pain go away! :laugh:0

I've always heard to drink plenty of fluids when you are sick, especially when you got a fever, just so you WON'T get dehydrated...and that's from a lot of doctors that I have been to.0
