I am just shy of 5'10" but I thought it was close enough.

I started at a size 12/14 and am about a 10 right now. Headed towards an 8 and wanting to be around 150 or 160 LBS. I haven't lost any weight since last summer. I haven't really been dedicated since September. I am on my way again though!

I've been looking for a thread like this! I'm also 5'8, and I'm stuck in the 160's. I'm back to 168ish now, but had gotten down to 160. I want to see the 150's. How are y'all getting past plateaus? What are your calorie intakes? MFP says I need 1200, but I'm beginning to wonder if it's too low. I was in the 130's in high school and solid muscle due to sports, so I'm not trying to kill myself to get there, but I'd like to shed another 15-20 pounds. I just can't seem to get it off. I have a pretty even mix of cardio and weight lifting, trying to throw my body off with different routines. Any suggestions?

After my daughter, I weighed close to 200. I dropped the initial weight with 30 day shred and walking/running. Maybe I need to pick up another Jillian dvd and let her beat me back into shape.

I stick to around 1500 calories a day. If I workout 5 days a week for an hour and burn around 600 to 700 calories, I will lose two pounds even if I eat back all my calories.. I f I back off to around 3 days a week only a pound. If I cheat I try to not go over 500 extra calories, then I know I am at least not going to gain anything back. Just hit the 30 lbs gone mark, 10 since I started MPF.

I am 5'9". I am currently 188 and just re-started my fitness journey. My profile pic is from the last time I had success - went from 175 down to about 155 in the pic. I got as low as 135 though. While I was fit, after I gained back the weight people told me that I looked too skinny at that weight. But I looked d@mn good in a bikini! Oh well. Trying to make it to a 10 this time from my current 12/14 self. At least I am mostly a 12 now thanks to MFP and my renewed love for exercise. Tightening up but the weight is stubborn thanks to being over 40!

5'8", highest was 175, lowest was 135 (pre- feminine curves in high school) right now I'm at about 164. Those first 8 pounds came off in a snap- my body wasn't comfortable at 175. I want so badly to get down to 145 and toned- that weight looks great for me. I'm finding it really tricky however- my body seems to want to maintain this weight despite the fact that my body fat% is way too high. Right now I'm trying to put the scale aside for a bit while I train for a half marathon in March. Once that's over I'll focus in more on the number. Would love some more 5'8" friends!!

HI I am 5'8" It's been wonderful looking at the success stories here. I have been trying to do this for years, after every child was born. Now that we are done with the baby stage, I am ready to committ to me. SW: 217, CW: 210 UGW: 145, I haven't seen that number since graduating high school. I have been doing 30DS, started in January. Looking forward to a slimmer me!

I am 5'9". I am just starting out though, just over 2 weeks in.

    My SW was 197.6
    My CW is 192.6
    My GW is 155-ish
  • Also a 5'8" gal! My highest ever (about six years ago) was 183 and a US size 12. I was inching towards a 14 and felt awful! My low was in the high 140s and a size 6/8. I've been hanging out in the low-mid 150s for the last couple of years and recently put on a few pounds of happiness weight (moved to a new city and state to live with my boyfriend after a year of long-distance dating... lots of late night bottles of wine!).

I'm 157 right now and would like to settle around 145, which was my original weight loss goal in 2006/7. I'm still hanging out in a comfortable US size 8, but I have some pretty dang cute size 6 clothes in my closet that are calling my name... I am quite strong and muscle-y, so the trick is losing that excess body fat without compromising the muscles I've worked so hard to build!

I've still got a good 50 pounds to go before I'm at my goal, but I've lost 40 pounds in a little under 6 months and am exactly 5' 8". I also have PCOS/insulin resistance and my weight loss is usually slower than anything, so it's surprising that I've even gotten this far.

I'm 5'8", 27, and have 2 kids. I currently weigh 144 and wear a size 7/8. Some of these were pictures I took for my 8 week Turbofire results and I weighed 149 then (2 1/2 weeks ago). I weighed 235 during both pregnancies and was still 215 when my youngest was over a year old in Nov 2009 when I decided to take control of my health and lose the weight. It took me about 6 months to lose 55lbs and I had maintained around 160 ever since. I kind of fell off the exercise and healthy eating wagon about 9 months ago though and was just feeling run down and looking flabby. I started an amazing workout program called Turbofire on 11/12/12 and have lost 17 lbs and toned up all over.
Good luck to you all on your health and fitness journeys! :flowerforyou:

In the past 19 months I have forced myself into running! In 2012 I ran an 8k, a 10k, and a half marathon (2h:30m). I'm not fast but I get out there!!! I also just begun lifting weights. I've only been at it for a month but I'm hoping to get strong and really toned! This year I'm doing the Color me Rad, Dirty Girl Mud Run, and the Tough Mudder!!! I'm stoked about this year!
