Hi everyone! I'm not really new to myfitnesspal, just new to the forums. I've lost 14 pounds so far, but have seemed to reached a plateau. What advice do you all have, what keeps you going? I still have 40 pounds to go, which seems pretty impossible to me right now.

I have the exact same wait to lose as you do...I'm not an expert....but slow and steady wins the race......I've always looked for the quick fix....now I am taking it slow and determined to lose 50...I've just started. Not sure if you've incorporate fun stuff and have time to amp up the workouts....I plan on going to the beach this weekend and riding bike...I hate excercise so I need to do something different.

I like to do alot of internet research, you find some very helpful things in the forums too about plateaus. Look into calorie cycling seems like an interesting plan, I almost do it just normally. Try and hit your goal everyday, get in lots of exercise, just keep doing what your doing, or hey change it up! Sometimes its good to confuse ur body!~

I've been coming to My Fitness Pal for less than a month and my philosophy has been that every time I feel like eating something I know I shouldn't, I log on and get some motivation. It helps me to know we're all in this together. When I hit a plateau, I shake up what I'm doing ... change my diet a little mostly by concentrating on proteins and extend my workout. Mostly, I walk, so I add a half hour and do some short sprints that get my heart revved up. Concentrate on one day at a time! All the Best!!!

1st- open you diary to public.. so folks can give advice. they really cant offer much without looking into you daily net cals.

a plateau is not losing for 3 weeks or more.

    lots of things to do

change your workout.. change your meals ( if your are eating the same things over and over)

try to stay away from as much processed food as you can<<,these contain lots of sodium.

    up your water intake.
