Does Strength Training Not Burn Calories?

I mean I know it does but when I enter my strength training exercises there is no calorie trade off like with the cardio. What's the deal with that?

I was thinking the same, I do use http://www.healthstatus.com/calculate/cbc and also just found http://www.caloriesperhour.com/index_burn.php for the calorie counting of things not on this site and add them to my personal exercises. The second link has way more activities. If all else fails, check this list and see if what you did is on there then just add to your own exercises. Hope that helps until we find out for sure.0

If you go to the cardiovascular section under the exercise tab and search for "strength training", it will give you an entry box that will give calorie credit. It's a little counterintuitive, but anyways.

You can create your own exercises too if you know what you have burned. I do P90x and use a heart rate monitor so I made a P90x exercise and just put in the time and how many calories I burned0

If you enter strength training under cardio it will give you calories burned.0

The reason is because its VERY hard to calculate calorie burn for strength training. Things like heart rate, pace, exertion, resistance, etc. all play a role in it and its a much more complex process biochemically. Its virtually impossible to get a universal number for squats, curls, etc.0

I figure that the calories burned during strength training are minimal, although they must burn some, I just figure that gives me a little extra cushion at the end of the day.0
