Too much protein?

I went over my recommended protein intake today (by 20g, but stayed under in calories). Is that a bad thing? What does too much protein do? Thanks!

Protein on here is set at the low end of recommended intakes. Most recs are for 10-35% of calories intake as protein. I set mine at 30%, which is 1 g protein per lb of body weight - recommended if you are highly active.
Unless you have a specific disease, it is very hard to eat too much protein.0 -
as long as you're drinking enough water, a little excess protein (but staying under your calorie goal for weight loss) shouldn't lead to any problems.0

NEVER TOO MUCH.
Just kidding. 20g won't effect you but 200g will0 -
I eat 100-115 grams of protein a day. Protein makes up about 40-45% of my daily 1200 calorie diet. I do not eat this much protein on purpose, I just eat a lot of egg whites and beans. Is that bad?0

Too much of anything can lead to weight gain. BUT 20g is nothing, don't worry.
Try to aim for 1lb of protein per lb of bodyweight as a minimum and go up to 1.8g of protein per pound of bodyweight.
For example, I weigh 155lb so I should eat a minimum of 155g and at most (although some would disagree) about 280g a day.0
