    I love dance music normally and am frequently guilty of “car dancing” on my commute home from work (my poor husband and I drive together, we really need to get some tint for his sake, lol!) but I find workout music really needs to be alternative to push me. I Turbo Jam at home 7 days a week so that has its own dance’ie music built in and I walk 2-4km on lunch at work so during the walking I listen to;

    Sum 41
    Blink 182
    Fall Out Boy
    New found Glory
    Taking Back Sunday

    I do have Beyonce’s Single Ladies song on there and Michael Jackson’s “Beat It” but those are my relaxing walking back down the steep hill to work songs, not really motivating.

    My Ipod was out of power one day so I borrowed my son's (was feeling a bit skeptical) and had a revelation.

    Mine had been full of my typical rock, Pink Floyd, Chillis, Breaking Benjamin, Three Doors Down.. etc etc, but his was psy and trance stuff, a total unknown for me.

    Well, although my normal taste is still rock, for the purposes of gym I ditched all my own music and replaced it with psy and trance. Brilliant for working out. Well, still some Floyd on there, Comfortably Numb seems simply too apt when in some state of workout hell to ignore. :-)
