I love hot food too! :flowerforyou:
I gladly accept, thanks! Something tells me would make one hell of a hot date :blushing:0 -
I grow jalapenos, habaneros, ghost and other hot chilis ever year in my garden. This year I actually moved them in doors - LOL. The spider mites were giving me a fit and then the habanero started shedding like crazy. I was getting peppers though...so I was happy. Unfortunately, I keep my home kinda chilly and the peppers started getting smaller and smaller. Soon, my habanero plant was kickin' out gumball sized peppers and then nothing at all. From any of them :-(
Anyway, too much pepper may be bad for you so I try not to overdue it. I have been able to cut down on salt by making my food a little spicier.0 -
Me!!! i grew up eating REALLY hot food...and i mean chomping on green chilies while eating food at every meal.
Then i came over to the US and fell in love with the yummy Southern food...got used to the non-spiciness and then one taste of a green chili and im back breathing fire like a dragon!!0 -

Two tablespoons of cayenne!! Holy schlitz!! I like spicy, but I also like the interior of my mouth!!
We use sriracha like ketchup in my household, though you're right, it's becoming... ahem... "weak sauce." My sister grew an assload of ghost chilis and we put them in homemade pico over the summer. Mmmmm..... so fruity and spicy! I love that they have a citrus hint to them. I also made a chili infused vodka with them for my sister and aunt. Yes, I like to burn as well, but I'm with another poster that said if all I can taste is fire, I'm good. Gotta have good flavor too!! :flowerforyou:0 -
yep, I add cholula or Sriracha to practically everything I eat these days. Switched up to habanero salsa too...
Now this soounds like me. I put sriracha on EVERYTHING when permitted! That habanero salsa sounds fierce!
Is Mrs Renfro's habenaro pepper salsa by any chance? One of my favorites, I love the smokey flavor. Just look at my diary it's a common add0 -

I've heard of the same thing when people try to keep their pepper plants going indoors over the winter. I had such a huge garden last year and invest many many hours into. Just for the entire garden to get wiped out by blight...I was so unimaginably upset0 -
i add cayenne pepper to everything food wise, but yep, i LIKE IT HOT TOO! hee, sorry could not resist.0

It really is amazing how accustomed you taste buds become to the heat...I could lay low for a week and try my usual dose of habenaro and it would prob bury me. It's really nice to see so many people that dig the hotness lol. Everyone in my family wont touch the stuff, I have to separate the dishes so as mine is the only hot one...kinda a pain in the *kitten* you'd think people would be more awesome like you guys!0 -
If it doesnt BURN my mouth I dont eat it...idk why but i love the burn!0

Absolutely! But I'm Indian, it goes with the territory0

Yep, I have some of that and "*kitten* Kickin Salsa" at home0 -
One of my favorite recipes that you will probably like is my taco pasta, not very good for you btw.
What you need:
6 serrano peppers, diced
1/2 head iceberg lettuce or full head Green Leaf Lettuce, cut into shreds
2-3 large hot house tomatoes, cubed
1/2 cup shredded marble cheese
1 or 2 cups sour cream (I prefer the 14% for thickness but any will do)
1 box three cheese hamburger helper
1 package taco seasoning
1 or 2 lbs of ground beef (I usually use about 1.5lbs)
2 cups dry spiral or wavy noodles
Cook the ground beef and mix the hamburger helper seasoning and taco seasoning and add noodles from package and the additonal noodles. Let simmer until fully cooked. Top it like a taco inside a bowl and eat.
I prepared this for a family of pakistani's (and they LOVE super spicy food) and they were literally sweating from consuming it. I used to consume as spicy as possible because I simply just loved the heat. Came up with this and it has always stayed a hit but I do tone it down for people who cannot handle that much heat in one little bowl. If you have ever had Nihari then you could imagine the heat, this dish is hotter.

Oh my goodness I LOVE cayenne pepper!!!!!!!! We have some starting to grow for our garden already0

I love Frank's Red Hot on everything.
I put red pepper flakes, liquid smoke and hot sauce in my chili too. :bigsmile:0 -
Here is my home made "Thai Die" sauce. Secret recipe but it starts out with a few hundred Thai and Tabasco peppers, fortified with some Scotch Bonnets. Cooked in a tomato base with lots of additional herbs and spices. It's got a great flavor and nice lingering heat. When I give it to friends I usually dilute it some because it's too hot otherwise!

Love me some green chili!! And it's amazing on everything!! (okay so I grew up in the state that grows the most chili in the world. i learned to like it as a kid as a surival tecnique.) Sadie's hot salsa is great too! The perfect amount of heat and not as much salt and vinegar as most storebought salsas, which gives it an amazing flavor. Red chili...well, only on certain things like posole, or mixed with green on almost any Mexican/New Mexican food.
ETA: Oh, and my dad's homegrown jalapenos, habaneros, yellow hots, etc. If you don't water the plant for a couple of days, the pepper comes out extra hot. Makes an excellent pico de gallo with some fresh picked tomatoes and celatro.0 -
I love spicy food, I even put jalapenos on my salads. THAT is AWESOME! I don't care for the habanero heat, but I do prefer food with a bite to it.0

Great post's guys, seriously thanks!0
