i dunno if its truly negative I have heard that claim before
but its virtually calorie free - its basically water and cellulose, hence why it is so much dietary fiber, our bodies cant break down cellulose so we can't use it as an energy source. This is all based off my knowledge of biochem when i took a long long time ago lol0 -
True. It's worth -2 calories per stalk.. Rather than dieting or exercise, consider instead eating 350 celery stalks per day to lose weight.0

Not true at all.0

YEAH! This is what Dr. Oz told me to do! Great idea!

No such thing...celery has calories...not many, but it does have calories. If I ate 2,600 calories worth of celery, I'd gain weight...but it would be a **** ton of celery. Best to eat your celery in moderation.0

Cucumber is another one that apparently takes more calories to digest than is ingested. I think of it as a guilt-free hummus delivery system.0

There is no such thing as negative calorie food. Carry on.0

I used to believe in negative calorie food, then I was like noway and went back to eating real food. Celery does have its place. Stuffed with PB or cheez whiz or something >.> If youre hungry at bedtime eat something, an orange, apple, celery stalk if you feel the need.. It won't hurt you unless it has glass in it, or you swallow wrong
Have a good day!0 -

I really doubt your body is going to burn enough calories digesting celery for it to matter one bit towards your weight loss.0

I've heard you burn more calories from the process to actually chew and eat celery than what celery has in it. But, I dont think it will really help you lose weight. But, you could probably eat as much as you want!0

I have heard it is..even if its not eating it before bed is a good idea, better than eating anything else....basically the the process in which your body has to digest it , etc. will be more calories burned than the 30 something calories it is..so yeah that means it turns out to be zero calories consumed in the end0

False
The only thing that has takes has "negative calories" is ice cold water.0 -

Celery has calories. However, a very minimal number. I think the old thinking was that you burned more calories in chewing the celery than is actually in the celery, thus creating a negative value. I dont look at it that way, anything that I eat goes on my diary. I even log zero calories like mustard tho, so I'm a little OCD about logging it all. But I should note that hasnt been true the last week, cause of being on a semi-vacation and multiple birthday celebrations.0

THIS IS NOT TRUE!0
