Remember when you could just follow points on WW?

Years ago I did WW points and was successful. I ate whatever I wanted but counted my points and lost. Of course I stopped going to meetings and count points and gained it back. I restarted watching what I eat in 2009 and just counted calories started high and worked my way down every 10 lbs But 4years later it seems that formula no longer works. My thyroid is a little low but not low enough for meds. I'm sure my metabolism is jacked from yrs of yo yo dieting. I am also 36 so a little older. But I hate hate hate that now instead of just counting calories I have to figure out some magic combination. Less carbs, no processed foods, wheat is bad wheat is good etc.... I eat pretty healthy compared to what I used to. I change up my work outs when needed. But seriously I can barely lose 1lb a month anymore and I still have about 30 to 40 to lose. Sorry this is so long. Anyone just miss the days when you could count calories and that's it? I know some people still can but there has to be other people out there that deal with this problem.

Opening your diary (and logging honestly) does help. I can't help critique your eating - because I ate a freaking cupcake for breakfast. But still ...
I did WW after I had my first kidlet. Didn't work for me, because I'm just not very disciplined. What works for me is:
1) no processed foods
2) if it isn't in my house - I can't eat it.
Basically, I can't be trusted with crap. I don't have the want/willpower/whatever-it-is to keep myself from eating it!0 -

Yep .... I have "lost" 6 cupcakes since last night. Granted, they only have 96 calories each ... but still. It's crap.0 -

What is the Core program?
Basically, instead of counting points you strive to only eat nutrient dense foods that are lower in calories and stop eating when you are satisfied. Lean meats, fruits, vegetables, whole grains, broth based soups, etc... You are also allotted 32 points per week to use on foods that don't fit into those categories (like cheesecake or bacon). So you only track the points of things that are more calorie dense and less nutritious.0 -
