Hello!
My story I am sure is not that different than many here. I have been overweight since I was pretty young. I've lost weight many times in the past but always gained it back. Over the last 6-10 months I guess I just haven't been paying attention to myself, don't really have an excuse. I knew I was at least as big as I had ever been, but I had actually gained a bit.
I got on a smaller jet a couple weeks ago, and found that the seat belt didn't fit. Traveling is my favorite thing to do, and having to ask for a seat belt extender was one of the most embarassing things I have ever been through. I spent the whole flight thinking about how awful I would feel for someone if they had to try to squeeze into the seat next to me. I guess it was the straw that broke the camel's back.
I had had great success with a different calorie tracking app a few years ago, but "took a break" from it while I went on a 3 week trip to Ireland, and couldn't motivate myself to get back into it. I knew a tool like that was what I needed, and after testing this site/app's food database I found that I would need to do far less self calculations with this one. Also the apps have barcode scanners now! That is great!
I always lose weight really fast when I start trying, so I think having this community and seeing all the success stories/pictures will really help me when it isn't so easy. That, and the picture of the seat belt extender I put as the background on my work PC!
