Question about recalculation

I put in my weight and I get a message, Congratulations! You have lost 10 lbs since you started, would you like us to recalculate your food intake? I said yes, and it reduced my calories by 40. Does anyone know why this happened?
You would think since I am close to my goal, maybe I would get more calories?
Thanks!

Hi,
As you lose weight you receive less calories because your body doesn't need as many. The more weight a person has to lose the more calories they are alloted by MFP, as they lose the weight, their alloted cals go down.
When you get to goal weight you can reset it for maintance and go from there :flowerforyou:
