New here! 23 years old, 17.5 lbs down

Hey everyone,
I just found out about MyFitnessPal after having done Weight Watchers Online for the past six months. Helped me loose the first 17.5 lbs, but I quit WW since this is completely free and seems to be working even better for me!
I'm 23 years old, 5.9 tall and I used to weigh 185 lbs, currently down to 167 lbs. My first goal is to get down to 154 lbs, and perhaps down to 143 lbs but I don't know if I want to. I have a healthy BMI by now, I definitely want to get down to the 154 because there's enough fat hanging around me still, haha. So first things first!
I live in the Netherlands, master student at uni. I'm looking for some friends, preferably between 20-30 to add to keep each other motivated.
I don't exercise at all at the moment, I find it hard enough to keep up with my new lifestyle and I simply hate working out, but my future plan is to start working out once/twice a week. I might pick up running again, or do more strength exercises from home
Any tips?

i hate working out too lol. I usually walk or do a youtube search of "low impact cardio" or beginners or walking videos. Anything really, and maybe do anywhere from 15 to 20 mins of exercise like twice a week. congratulations on losing that weight!! im stuggling with trying to keep moving down on the scale. one day at a time i suppose :-)
good luck!0 -
You can add me. I am about the same height and trying to get down to 150lbs.
exercise is boring if its not something you enjoy. I do the following:
run with my favorite mix of music
fast walk for 1 hour with my dog listening to an audio book (free at library)
play pick-up basketball/join a sports team
Zumba, Zumba, Zumba0 -
Nice to hear from you chica6578, It is hard isn't it! I actually enjoy strength exercises the most, which is weird probably :P I really should get into it again. I have a yoga mat laying around, some weights, no excuses really. But I never feel like doing it. I did enjoy the running at one point, and now that the weather is clearing up a bit it might be a good distraction from my thesis work and enjoying some fresh air!0

Rose_arc, thanks for letting me add you! Running with music is actually something I enjoyed doing! I should get back into it, I was doing pretty well at one point. I just rarely get myself to actually putting on my workout clothes, it's terrible :P Fast walking is actually pretty good tip as well! I do try to walk as much as I can, instead of taking my bike/public transport, but it's soooo tempting haha!0

If you like strength training, I suggest you use bodbot, I downloaded it as a chrome app recently and it suggests workouts that you can do based on what your goal is0
